Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 15, 2014 2:19 pm Hi everyone, I'm new to this and I have been reading everyone's threads to help me but I thought I would make one. I am a first home buyer and currently in the process of building my first home with my boyfriend. We are building with Aussie Living Homes in Heron Park. The titles aren't expected until March. We signed up in September 2013. We are applying for finance on Monday. Has anyone gone with keystart and how long did it take to get formal approval? Has anyone built in Heron Park and were your titles on time? Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 2Jan 15, 2014 3:55 pm hi joceandmark, can't answer either question, but we're just starting a build across the road in Newhaven. Also our first build so no idea what to expect:-) our titles were about 6 weeks late, if that's any indication, but don't know how the process works and what exactly caused the delay. Good luck with your build. Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 3Jan 15, 2014 4:03 pm ardie514 hi joceandmark, can't answer either question, but we're just starting a build across the road in Newhaven. My partner wanted to build in Newhaven but we didn't get offered any land there from our builder so we chose In heron park, it's a lovely estate too. Have you started your build? How is that all going! Our titles were initially in Feb but it has been pushed back to March. Hoping for no more delays and very nervous about finance.. Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 4Jan 15, 2014 9:38 pm Hi, We are building in Heron Park too. Titles were on time but we ended up asking the developer for an extension because our builder didn't have the plans ready on time. Ended up having settlement in December. Just waiting for slab to start because our building permit arrived yesterday. Builder said 2-3 weeks in scheduling and then we are good to go. Was your finance quick? Glad you are starting good luck with your build! I can't wait until those two things happen! Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 6Jan 15, 2014 11:57 pm Titles came out in August and were on time. I think we are stage 12D. We delayed settlement due to builder delays with plans. The bank requested two weeks once the plans were ready to approve everything. We finally got our finance approval in October and settled in December. I did a lot of research in those months, particularly on this forum, trying to figure out the questions I needed to ask to make sure all went smoothly. I made sure everything we were promised by our sales rep was in writing, and I am glad I did as I needed to produce those emails in the end. He seemed to have memory problems! Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 7Jan 16, 2014 9:26 am Debnmatt, that's what I'm doing I wanted to know more so I created a login myself been following for months now. We signed in September so it's been about 4 months. We are going through keystart and they are apparantly slow so we hope they come throughbefore titles. Who are you building with? Out sales rep NEVER messages me back . We are stage 13. Not fat behind we are building on Welcome Meandor. Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 8Jan 16, 2014 5:05 pm Just at the very beginning of the build. We've signed off on our floor plan and front elevation, and then our file went to the office. I think they are now doing site assessment, etc. Am hoping for a slab this autumn. Just looked at heron park display homes yesterday, trying to get colour ideas. It's gorgeous. We'd have loved a block there, but nothing quite right size and location at time we looked. Very happy about our block in Newhaven, seems lovely. Re: Building in Heron Park - ALH 9Jan 16, 2014 5:19 pm Ardie514, we are going to drive there to see if much has happened since Christmas! Yeah our block is very tiny but it's just the two of us and just a step in the door. It's just getting more expensive so we really chose out of what we were given being desperate lol. New haven is an amazing place. Can't wait to hear more about your progress. Fingers crossed for you to have Slab down soon ! Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 30235 |
