Tiler still screeds with a fall for drainage. Our showers are hobless with about 2cm set down. Only problem with this method is our bathroom entrance(main) is about 1.5cm taller than the floor in the hallway (never has been a problem have lived here 3 years, but when I first saw it was not happy - we have vinyl flooring), but in the bedroom the ensuite floor is the same which works out flush with the carpet (underlay and carpet thickness) So you just have to consider what flooring meets the bathroom if you don't want a step. But as I said no one has tripped yet.. There is another thread about getting wet areas all set down. I hope this help you newhome_24, AS3958.1 is the Ceramic Tile Installation Standard.
