Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 13, 2014 4:17 pm I am thinking of going with 3 colours for the kitchen cupboards... All of them would be in the Laminex Silk range... The island bench - Espresso Ligna The cuboards along the back wall - Mushroom Linea The overhead cupboards - Moleskin or White The benchtop I am thinking of is crystal salt or bone white We are also going to have a glass splashback but I have no idea on colours for this yet. What do you think? To busy? Too much colour/variance? My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please 3Jan 15, 2014 3:02 pm I actually think it could look really cool! I definitely like the idea of the white bench top as it should tie the different elements together well. I wonder if it would have a similar look to this kitchen, except with a more modern cabinetry style? Although it looks like they've picked a darker colour for their back benches and slightly lighter for the island. http://www.houzz.com/photos/3934618/Sle ... en-houston Have you got some inspiration pictures you're using for the look? Or was it just something you came up with on your own? Our house building journey --- https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68842 Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please 4Jan 15, 2014 4:37 pm I saw one picture that was similar, but I can't find it any more... I thought I had saved it, but obviously not. I am hoping it will be something a bit different and funky but still remaining neutral. I did draw up a sort of sketch on the Bunnings kitchen thing, but I don't know how to upload a pdf My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please 5Jan 16, 2014 11:33 am Based on the colours I think it will still be pretty neutral. Or as neutral as you can be when you're also a bit funky I don't think you can upload a PDF unfortunately. You'd prolly be best to take a screenshot and upload the pic if you want comments Our house building journey --- https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68842 Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please 6Jan 16, 2014 1:05 pm Ok, here is a pic I did on the Laminex website... The island bench is Espresso Ligna The back cupboards are Mushroom Linea And the overhead cupboards are in Moleskin Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... I'm also trying to decide if I should have a neutral splashback or a colourful one like green or blue, but I'm unsure how that will look being open plan and living and dining area right next to it. If so, that's an influence in its own right). Thinking about building Rawson's Huntley 27 Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please ***PIC ADDED*** 10Jan 16, 2014 9:58 pm I think it looks "fine" but personal opinion is it loses the impact a two tone kitchen can have. I love dark lower cabinets and light upper cabinets, and in my opinion your kitchen would look much better with the darker colour (?espresso?) on the rear bench lower cupboards also. It's all subjective though. What are your concerns about it? Have you done up comparison versions? Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please ***PIC ADDED*** 12Jan 16, 2014 10:21 pm I wrote a post earlier today but obviously didn't press the submit button my concern was the moleskin and the colour of the background painting but perhaps Emy has it right and it's the bench tops - anyway each to their own I like the concept of three tone but I think moleskin is a little but too similar to the other colours ....anyway just my 2c <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... I'm having a wood look colour for front of Island bench that same colour is going to be used on over heads and then having white inside my kitchen. I think I was going to have moleskin but the laminex shop told me it could have yellow tones in it so I changed to white. At the end of the day everyone has their own opinions .Go with your heart.sometimes the more opinions the more confused you get lol . You can check my colours on my blog melsie68. Re: 3 Tone Kitchen... Opinions please ***PIC ADDED*** 14Jan 17, 2014 11:02 am Thanks I wasn't sure about the Moleskin or White... I think you've all convinced me that white will be better Your opinions have helped sort this out a bit in my head My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Sorry!
