Browse Forums Building A New House Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3621Dec 18, 2015 2:58 pm Sounds wonderful. I think we will need ours sprayed before we move in. We have seen lots of baby huntsmans on the Alfresco and garage ceiling they will be big babies by the time we move in. Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3626Dec 28, 2015 10:45 am Just back from an interstate trip and found water in butler pantry again. It looks like silicon is not an answer to fix this issue. Will be raising with home assurance team again. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Another issue, TV antenna. I asked Henley to install tv antenna for us. Never had enough time to watch tv since moved in. But recently when started watching it, reception was just crap. btw we are in very good location for TV reception. New channels from 9 network were just unwatchable. After some time spending on changing splitter in roof and checking connections, could not find any fault. Then started posting my question on different forums. Finally last night got answer to this issue. As for the water coming in through the window how is it getting through? Re: Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3628Dec 29, 2015 8:30 am Easier to send them a photo of the antenna and fix it yourself... Probably installed by a Jim's or other subbie, and you'll take better care of your roof walking on it... The leaky window is a bugger, can you replicate it with light spray from a hose? Sounds like they're trying to bog it up with silicon, which doesn't seem to be the fix Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3629Dec 31, 2015 11:14 am TBH, No idea how this water is still getting through the window. But it's a major worry for us. In this situation, we can't go overseas for a month or so. Almost every major thunderstorm is causing this issue. I'll try with water hose to reproduce this but not sure where it's coming from. From the top of the roof or just above window frame Re: Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3630Dec 31, 2015 11:19 am Drew01 Easier to send them a photo of the antenna and fix it yourself... Have done lot of minor roof work on single story but not comfortable on double story. will talk to home assurance department to send either same crazy installer back or someone else to fix it. Is there any specialist profession to detect window leakage? I'm happy to pay someone to find actual fault and fix it professionally. Call me silly, but I don't consider silicon filling randomly is right way to fix a building issue. Re: Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3631Dec 31, 2015 12:48 pm Fair call on fixing the antenna if you're not comfortable with there height... I agree about the leaking, I'd have thought silicon is a DIY type fix myself... Re: Sahara Q1 - Backyardian 3640Jan 27, 2016 7:37 am Wow nice bit of colour to the backyard, they look good. Yes, I have. But, I haven't paid yet. They know they did not do proper jobs and I sent the email re: final payment, I cannot pay. They said, we will do 2nd PCI. Since… 2 5486 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37085 The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5150 |
