Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Sahara Q1 build 20XIV 154Feb 05, 2014 8:50 am mirz thanks stayxtrue. if junction box is $75, and power point or batten is $45/$43 then we would rather go with either powerpoint and replace them with light or any other device post handover. are these external power points are weatherproof? Just keep in mind power points lines can not be made into light it breaches electrical standards and u will not be able to get a electrical certificate which then makes ur house a liability.... insurance and warranty should anything happen. in the stair case I got junction boxes for light and got my electrician after handover to install LED wall lights... Henley were well priced in gettting junction boxes junction box was $60 bucks batton light was $60 power point was $72 (same price for internal or external) LED light was around $100 bucks I took up the LED package and added my extra points... and trust me I still missed things... after hand over I got my electrician to put a power point under the stairs and extra external power point outdide the living room window and one at the font of the house near meter box for low voltage garden lights I should have put LED in the bathrooms and my electrician had a hard time trying to do all this..... the price was more after... I think you should get your wiring all done by henley as its a lot easier I also got henley to bring Hot and cold water plus gas line to alfresco if you are putting an alarm in they only put sensors downstairs... so I paid the company direct and got sensors upstairs as well.. Re: Sahara Q1 build 20XIV 155Feb 05, 2014 8:52 am mirz stayxtrue Yep, weatherproofed inknow we had them put in but couldn't remember how much they were extra, but I remember Henley saying that they were the same price when we were at tender How many data points did you get with nbn pack? Do you have details on extra data points? Thanks. we paid around 650 for NBN and got 2 data point I put one in the study and 1 in the living room Re: Sahara Q1 build 20XIV 156Feb 05, 2014 9:03 am MarySart mirz thanks stayxtrue. if junction box is $75, and power point or batten is $45/$43 then we would rather go with either powerpoint and replace them with light or any other device post handover. are these external power points are weatherproof? Thanks Mary for sharing, and tips. Do you remeber how much they charge for gas point in alfresco? PD quoted us only $250, but our Henley sales person quoted us $1050 for one gas point. this was a shocker. his explanation was that they will have to put a dedicated gas line all the way from gas meter to alfresco. i asked them why cant they extend from kitchen? but he said it will break gas pressure if we will use both kitchen cooktop, and alfresco point at the same time. we are planning to raise this again in tender, as $1050 is way too much for a single gas point in alfresco. if $100 per LED then we would rather go with henley, as $60 for each batten and then cost of led and electrician labor cost would make it more than $100. i'm thinking to go for extra data points, but dont know whats the cost for each data point. Re: Sahara Q1 build 20XIV 157Feb 05, 2014 9:18 am WOW! Lucky I didnt get the gas point done then! I think I will get this done after the fact with an independent plumber Re: Sahara Q1 build 20XIV 158Feb 05, 2014 9:43 am mirz stayxtrue Yep, weatherproofed inknow we had them put in but couldn't remember how much they were extra, but I remember Henley saying that they were the same price when we were at tender How many data points did you get with nbn pack? We just went with the 2 data points. Who uses a landline anymore these days?!! Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! Who uses a landline anymore these days?!! we got 2 extra for $194, so $97 each. we got one in the top of the cupboard in the laundry, as well as 2 powerpoints in there, so I can put a wireless repeater at that end of the house, as well as a nice hiding place for my QNAP NAS connected straight into the repeater's network ports. Nice and out of the way Re: Sahara Q1 build 20XIV 160Feb 05, 2014 8:26 pm PEARZ mirz stayxtrue Yep, weatherproofed inknow we had them put in but couldn't remember how much they were extra, but I remember Henley saying that they were the same price when we were at tender How many data points did you get with nbn pack? Same here, so sick of paying line rent every month when no one is using home phone. But in our exchange naked adsl isn't available and we need to pay this no mater what. I believe we will be getting same 2 data points as part of package which means need to go with 6 extras. We need few extra lights outside beyond our package. So will ask for battens there. Do you by any chance pricing for video intercom with 2 internal screens?
