Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 06, 2014 7:52 am Hi all, Happy New Year. We will be looking for land to build our new home soon. I've always wanted a semi-circle driveway, like in the picture shown below, so the car can come in one side and get back on the street by just driving-through. No need to reverse vehicle back out. I just wanted to know if we want to build such thing, is there a minimum street frontage required on the block of land ? Does any home builder have these driveways as an option ? And is there a technical/builders term for this ? We wanted one in a previous house (cos of the reversing) but never went ahead with it. Some of the issues were limits on how much driveway width per frontage (I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure how else to describe it), limits on proximity to naturestrip structures like light poles, style of kerb and possible additional cost to have the kerb rebuilt to allow for the additional driveway. Some things might be practical issues while some might be unique to your local council or the design covenants in your development. It might be an idea to update your profile to show which city you are in and then you'll get replies from people in the areas your looking to build. Happy New Year and hope you have progress on your new home soon! LOL Sydney-build, that's a clue isn't it!
