Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 07, 2014 5:06 pm Hi, Been browsing the forums for a while, 1st post. I am looking to purchase land for my 1st home. I found the following block at alkimos beach: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It has about a 2.4m slope over 30m front raising to back. Does anybody know good builders to build on a slope. (feel free to PM me) Is it much more expensive to build on a slope even if you have a split level house? Re: Builders for sloping blocks in WA 2Jan 07, 2014 5:14 pm G'day Cranzy, Our block slopes 2.5m over 25m so not dissimilar to yours. We went with a designer and have a lower garage level than the house, however the ground floor of the living area of the house is all at the same level. Basically a bit of cut and fill and some retaining. We're building with Bellagio Homes and plans are on my thread. Re: Builders for sloping blocks in WA 3Jan 07, 2014 5:25 pm We are also building on alkimos beach but it's not a sloping land. However, when I was on their fb page their was a story about a couple who purchased a sloping plot and saved money it was built by dale Alcock. Might be worth reading the article. Thanks, will have a look at your thread Will most probably get the land first and then save up some more for the house. Atleast this way i can shop around. Just didn't want to go for the land if the house is going to be very high priced. Read that same article earlier this week Will have to talk to them, but i do think they are generally more expensive than some others Re: Builders for sloping blocks in WA 6Jan 10, 2014 11:04 pm We have a sloping block, 2 mtres over the building area, were just about to sign with Dale Alcock, and they came back saying they won't build over a 1.5m slope…… so had to start at square one with plans. We are now very close to signing a contract with WA Country Builders Those span tables can be pushed a little for a low deck if you dont mind a little flex.
