When we had our alarm installed, 2.5 years ago, we were offered the remote keypad with the system. we also have the alarm keypad, for prgramming and such, located at the front door entry.
Our key pad consists of 4 buttons and looks just like a garage door remote control.
The buttone in order from top to bottom:
1. Activates the alarm and closes the roller door, when leaving.
If you are coming home we press the same top button to deactivate the alarm and open the garage door.
2. Is to arm the @ home alarm - meaning that down stairs can be armed and active and we are free to roam around up stairs. This is good if I am away and the wife is home alone.
3. Is the panic button - Silent alarm straight to alarm company and they notify the police if the home phone is not answered in 3 rings. Police arrive within 5 minutes from end of ringing. We have used it once, with a great result.
4. Is just for the garage door opener, with no alarm activation...
Also the house has been fitted with pet friendly sensors and are activated if movement or body heat is above the equivelant of a 40 - 45 Kg person...
I guess we are stuffed if we get an anorexic burgular.......
