Re: Redink Battleaxe - PCI complete - pics! 482Jun 05, 2015 12:06 pm Hi all, HAPPY FRIDAY! So we had PCI yesterday! Our private inspector was so thorough, he has a big list of things to be fixed but thankfully none of them are particularly worrying…just lots of things to be patched up but he also said that overall they’ve done a good job. Our SS said that he would have preferred to have another week to get things done but knew that we wanted keys before we’re off to the UK for a couple of weeks later this month, he’s been an absolute gem to turn our build around like he has after the very (very) slow start. We are super happy with our selections and it was awesome to see all the lights on and the aircon working (the touch screen panel is SO FANCY! ). I would definitely recommend the $20-something upgrade to the Clipsal fans (see en suite pic), they are nice and quiet, but hopefully they’ll work well once the shower is on too! Slight misses (for anyone who is still working on the their plans!) - The aircon unit sits just outside our en suite and the slight humming will be bearable but I wish we had of just moved it! - The rangehood sounds like a plane taking off so we’ll need to check if it’s installed incorrectly…if it is, it might drown out the footy Anyway, here’s some pics (sorry there's not too many!) and hopefully we’ll have a date for keys soon! x Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: Redink Battleaxe - PCI complete - pics! 483Jun 05, 2015 12:09 pm WOW! We are on track for keys next week but there is SO much to do once we have them!!! I've put together a handy calendar (below) we're working on a very tight schedule but I think we'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief if we can fit it all in! And it also keeps DH on his toes The garden is another mammoth issue...that's next on the H1 agenda Our bar stools and towels arrived yesterday. We went with these bad boys from Adairs - https://www.adairs.com.au/bathroom/towe ... olour=Mint and these to change it up when we want to - https://www.adairs.com.au/bathroom/towe ... Peppermint (I was definitely channeling my inner Blockhead with these purchases ) I almost fell off my chair when I saw the prices for appliances, I knew Smeg was very expensive but I didn't know they all are! I'm looking at these from Myer, and they've got good reviews (hooray!). DH is so far ignoring my attempts to get him engaged in the appliances decisions but hopefully he'll come around (he likes it when things are on sale ) http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/wk2 ... ck-sesame# http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/ele ... ack-sesame Choosing between the white paint colours is HARD. Option anxiety to the max (I'd probably say it's equally as hard as choosing a favourite cupcake flavour!). DH was hell bent on Dulux's vivid white (doesn't get much whiter than that ) but luckily we went into some display homes on the weekend and he decided that bright white is a little too in your face...whew. So I think we'll take some swatches around and try to match up the ones we like Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hope all your builds are going well and I'll be checking them out tonight! x Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: Redink Battleaxe - keys next week - post-handover list 492Jun 10, 2015 1:09 pm Wow, organised! Love the towels (and that you noted champers in there) Re the appliances, make sure you google and see where else sells them and for how much, as Myer is usually more expensive, and they will price match Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Redink Battleaxe - keys next week - post-handover list 493Jun 10, 2015 1:25 pm We were on a tight two week schedule also and the painting and flooring got done, most importantly so you'll do it. Can't wait for you to get keys justy. You made it! Re: Redink Battleaxe - keys next week - post-handover list 494Jun 10, 2015 9:46 pm Very organised with the calendar, well done! Re: Redink Battleaxe - keys next week - post-handover list 495Jun 13, 2015 5:56 pm Very organised! Love the kettle and toaster and great towels Re: Redink Battleaxe - keys next week - post-handover list 496Jun 17, 2015 4:31 pm Hey justy, Long time no see! Sorry I've been a stranger. Life got in the way of being a good forum member. Just wanted to pop by and say everything looks great and congrats for making it to the end! I can't believe I've been in my house for 6 months already. Once you're in, time will fly by. Far out your kitchen island panel looks great. I've probably commented on it before, but its so striking! I'm a big fan Love the calendar too. I do enjoy stylish organisation haha. oh and try White Exchange 1/2 for the white paint. I have it and love it. I found it was the best compromise between cool and warm whites. Lovely and neutral and a perfect canvas for whatever decorating you want! Take care! Re: Redink Battleaxe - keys next week - post-handover list 497Jun 18, 2015 4:57 pm Hi Justy - will you get your keys this week??? I hope so! Re: Redink Battleaxe - KEYS! 498Jun 21, 2015 12:01 pm Hi all, Thanks for your lovely comments! We got keys on Thursday SOOOOO happy!!!! As of yesterday at 1pm our driveway is complete...yup, all 90m2 our bricklayers were so fantastic! But the day wasn't without it's drama...Midland Brick incorrectly measured our drive so we were short on bricks, 20m2 short to be exact! thankfully one of the guy's that I work with came to the rescue and we were able to quickly grab a truck, head out to Midland Brick, grab some more bricks and unload them (by hand) on site. WHEW. I went around to have a look and half the neighbourhood were admiring it Handy advice: let your brickies do the measurements or do it yourself and triple check it (they told us that Midland Brick are almost always wrong). The big move will be next weekend and we'll put everything into the garage and then move it in once living room flooring is complete . Painting starts on Tuesday and the blackbutt flooring is being installed next Friday and the following Monday. Keeping with the theme of things spontaneous happenings...our carpet colour is the most popular and consequently won't be in stock until July 20 (I need to keep telling myself that building is fun ) so we'll have our bed on the concrete for a few weeks. I feel Ardie's pain with the lack of things ticked off from the PCI list. What annoyed me more was that our CLO told me everything was completed at handover (nope, it definitely wasn't). I would have preferred that she double checked (we wouldn't have minded if there were still things to finished off!) but now it's put bit of a sour note on what was a great home stretch for us A pic of keys and driveway (sorry it's a bit sandy!) below, and I'll get some more pics up once painting and flooring has started Hope everyone has a cracking weekend! x Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: Redink Battleaxe - KEYS! 499Jun 21, 2015 6:24 pm Congratulations on getting your keys at long last Justy your house looks amazing and your driveway is very impressive What a shame re the PCI list - hopefully they're small things but as you say, avoidable last minute stress Do you think there is a way to avoid this from an owner's perspective? Could we potentially delay keys until it is fixed? Wonder how that would work. Hope all your week's plans work out as expected - looking forward to painting and flooring pics Re: Redink Battleaxe - KEYS! 500Jun 21, 2015 6:40 pm YAY!!!!! Just saw this and it made me so happy. Congrats on keys, that is really fantastic news. Sorry to hear about stuff not being finished. We still have a few things outstanding and have added quite a few more since moving in, but it is wonderful to have our own home. Very glad to hear that you were able to sort the driveway out, I can imagine the stress, but it does look beautiful! Good luck with the move and all the post handover stuff. This is the hard/fun part To answer your question MalSannie, yes you certainly can delay getting keys until absolutely everything is completed. Although I can almost guarantee that upon your parents moving in they'll find more stuff We were just in such a rush to get in with our lease up and other stuff going on that we accepted keys, and accepted their word for it that items had been completed, when in fact they had not. You (or your parents) could probably request a second walkthrough prior to getting keys and post PCI. Thanks for the insight!
