Asj25 had a rough run with stain Do you know what you are getting on your floor? We'll have some form of tiles - but not at all sure regarding type nor colour yet! And being remote it isn't easy to choose/decide. Have just read that ceramic is considered not as good as porcelain - I just want them to look nice, be easy to clean, and not too slippy!! Didn't expect to have to worry about type too Re: Redink Battleaxe build - Lathlain - prestart complete! 154Jun 09, 2014 3:47 pm asj25 We got redink to do our soak wells. Though they seriously underestimated. Didn't take into account our 140 odd square mt driveway and water runoff from that?! Haha. I didn't think the soak wells were too unreasonable, however they didn't do an awesome job and our were filled up with sand because they never bothered to cover the grate. So we had to pay someone to dig out all the sand. Can totally see why people just pay for things themselves to make sure they are done right! Sorry asj25! I did read your above post that you had redink do your soakwells. Must have needed a coffee when I asked the second time! Super excited about the shower head wfry MalSannie justy It's a tough one MalSannie! Asj25 had a rough run with stain Do you know what you are getting on your floor? I'm quickly realising that it pays to be organised with this stuff. Another thing on my 'to do' list is to plant a whole heap of frangipanis etc in pots so when the build has finished we'll have some semi-mature plants. Good plan re raising some plants, my parents are doing the same for our build - buying plants are expensive if you have to do that on top of the initial cost of building/moving! Re: Redink Battleaxe build - Lathlain - prestart complete! 156Jun 11, 2014 12:03 am Hi Justy, I love the colours you have chosen and your interiors. I was searching for some inputs on door stains and I came across this post . Would like to seek opinion on closest stain colour on front door which will go alone with Flexographic caoba ( centurion door). Our builder is offering us with the same wattyl colour selectee which you had posted which is a water based stain. Please suggest if expresso syrup will be a match as that's the one which our prestart lady recommended. From what I've read on this forum, the door stains vary it just depends on the painter. If you are really stuck you could always go into a Wattyl store and talk to the paint guys there, they'll have great knowledge of all the stains. Good luck with your build! I thought nothing was happening...but so much is happening! Unfortunately we've needed to change all our kitchen appliances (don't even ask). So now we are tossing up between Bosch and Fisher & Paykel (new range). If you have any opinions about them, let me know, we are looking at the self cleaning ones. (My Dad works for an appliances store so I've got a lot of inside info). I just got an email from our lovely prestart lady. Planning application was being approved today and hopefully we'll have the building permit in about 2 weeks time (fingers crossed). Question - how long does it usually take from getting building permit to the slab being laid? I'm so excited! Since then, we have flown along, our brickies say they will be finished mid next week. Hang in there, you are almost over the yuckiest part Re: Redink Battleaxe - Lathlain - building permit coming soo 160Jun 16, 2014 9:50 pm justy Hi all, I hope your Monday is going swimmingly.
