Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Colorbond Colours 2Jan 02, 2014 9:43 pm i have been looking at gully and wallaby too. would love to see some photos of peoples houses using these colours! Will be following this thread Re: New Colorbond Colours 3Jan 03, 2014 6:22 am I ordered some samples of the new colours a few weeks ago but they haven't arrived yet. Re: New Colorbond Colours 4Jan 03, 2014 6:30 am We're having Basalt roof. I was so stoked when it was released, we were having so much trouble deciding on our roof and thus beautiful darkish, neutral based grey was just what we were looking for. Haven't seen it on an actual roof, just pictures and small samples. But it's exactly what we're after. Do you have lighter or darker bricks? We were pretty much locked to woodland gray for roof, but would love to checkout Basalt. It seems like a nice mid tone gray shade. Re: New Colorbond Colours 7Jan 07, 2014 6:05 am We were going the Woodland Grey way too but I wasn't really happy with the amount of green. I wanted a cleaner grey, thought it'd be more modern. Haven't seen it on a real roof though so only time will tell! We're matching gutter to the roof in basalt, then having surfmist fascia (i think! I'll have to check). Then we're having double strength evening haze render, surfmist garage door and an orange front door. Probably a white feature wall out front. Sounds dreadful when all listed together in a jumble like that haha! There was a computer image done up, should be in my build thread. One of the sample houses on the colorbond website has evening haze render with the basalt roof and I really liked the way it looked so that's what pointed us in that direction. I'll see if I can track it down for you! And there's some discussion further on in the next page or two about the new colorbond colours and where I saw samples etc also. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: New Colorbond Colours 11Jan 07, 2014 7:01 am I was pretty annoyed about the release of the new colours at the expense of the old ones personally. I was planning on using loft for my walls (my whole house is colorbond) and that now doens't exist. Instead I'm having Monument walls and wallaby roof. Once it goes up I can post a pic if you like. Only at the slab stage atm. Wow - thanks so much HeathWild! That's a great colour sample. I love the dune colour too and would like to consider that for a render colour with the Basalt roof. Thank you again for posting this photo. Would you say the Woodland Grey is a mixture between Basalt and Monument? And is Wallaby similar to those too? Funnily enough, I've seen that photo of your facade illustration with the colours before and loved it! Great taste! Re: New Colorbond Colours 15Jan 07, 2014 12:11 pm LOVE the Basalt and it looks great with the Dune. We currently have Ironstone selected for our roof, gutters and front door - wondering if it's too late to switch it over to Basalt (with a different door colour perhaps). The builder is back in the office on Monday so have a couple of days to mull it over and check how it looks with our bricks and render choices, I guess. ~ Anne I used to be indecisive but now I'm not quite sure. The added advantage of getting Basalt is that it is painted on our new metal coated steel substrate, if you were to stick with the ironstone you would still receive the older ZAL substrate not the new AM substrate. and new is always better than old right?? What does this mean exactly Heath? Sorry, went technical there. Basically the company has changed the coating on the steel under the paint to a coating that resists corrosion even better than normal zincalume. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10181 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2862 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 17655 |
