Great to see so many happy ppls moving into their much awaited home. We had our slab laid back in the beginning of August and just last week had our brickwork finished. It took 14 weeks, 3 and half months of brickwork, (our brickie took ill health and all was delayed). so brickwork alone was aug to nov 2015. So... last week when the brickies finished what did I do? I moaned to my builder (as a moaner would do) and we now have a roof, completed in 1 week, (timbers, plumbing, electrics and cover in 1 week and not to be faulted) now how good a turn about is that... at last? We have been waiting sooo long. Our neighbours have started moving into our street and some are not far from handover by the look of it. We settled our land April 2015 and purchased October 2014. Hopefully we will get to calleya BANJUP??? sometime feb/mar 2016. And...Good onya to elemist for a good old moan also. Your brickies were a lot quicker and your roof time a little longer. And now your at render, how good is that. Wouldnt it be weird if we had a finished build same day also Re: Take Two - Calleya - Waiting for Lockup! 685Nov 27, 2015 7:29 pm The moaner Ro_14 The moaner Hi All, So much happening in Calleya, and how nice are all pics? I would also like to know how you got on with National in the end. Thanks Re: Take Two - Calleya - Waiting for Lockup! 690May 03, 2016 8:25 pm Hi All I will be selling a brand new house in the best estate in Perth. Calleya is located next to Cockburn Gateway shopping centre, Cockburn train station and the Kwinana freeway. The house is located just around the corner from the feature park which has a great playground and BBQ facilities. It will be ready in the next 6 weeks. It is a Smart Homes (part of Ventura) build - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, Theatre room, Activity room and study, plus open plan kitchen, family and dining area on a 450sqm block. Why buy land and go through the hassle of building, when you can have a complete finished home ready to move in or buy as an investment. Please contact me for more details. Thanks Amit Re: Take Two - Calleya - Waiting for Lockup! 691May 18, 2016 12:47 pm Hi All,
Sorry for the lack of updates - had issues with my H1 account being blocked for some reason, just thought to try it now and it seems to be working. So bare with me and i'll go back through to answer your questions! I'm finally in (as of about 5 weeks ago), though there's still some lingering issues of things not finished or not done correctly that i'm still waiting to be resolved. Overall love the area and happy with the house. Have to say i'll never build with National Homes again.. bunch of incompetent idiots really. The only positive thing so far is they're consistently incompetent across the board. In the end after ~13 months of construction, i ended up having to hammer them and take keys early, because i had already rented out my current place and delayed the new tenants from moving in for a couple of weeks. So the house was handed over "finished" with a whole list of stuff to be finished / fixed. My list at present is - Missing door handle to laundry door - Missing towel rail to powder room - Silicon to be done to powder room bench - Cornice to be installed above bar nook - Overhead cupboards to be adjusted / replaced - Broken window latch to be replaced - Sliding fly wire door to master is jammed - Glass slider to living area door to be adjusted - Drains down the side of the house to be cleared of sand and covers installed - Man hole cover to be installed - Rubbish to be cleared - Painter to return and fix finish issues - Major issue with fence height / block height So mostly smallish stuff, just annoying things which will take 5 minutes to rectify they just can't seem to get their trades organised to come back and finish things. The major issue i have at present is the height of the block / fence. Basically the builder has built up the block quite significantly with no thought to how this would affect the surrounding blocks. So subsequently there's sand washing under the fence on all the sides. The frustrating this is i raised this with the supervisor at the brick work meeting and then repeatedly with the current supervisor over the past few months and was told it's not an issue.. well strangely enough it is an issue and now they're dragging their feet trying to work out what they're going to do to fix it. The fencing was installed by the developers contractor at the standard block heights which means the fences are really low on all 3 sides as well. Bloody builders.. Anyways.. builders aside.. So far i've had my drive way and splash back installed. First new couch has been delivered, thought one of the cushions was damaged, so they're returning today actually to fix it. The second new couch for my theatre is also being delivered today as well! Front retaining walls / planter boxes will begin on Friday as well. Next on my list to organize is the side return fence / gate.
