Developer approval obtained, engineering complete, getting quotes Project Management 5May 14, 2008 6:02 pm Hi Guys,
I think what you are referring to is project management and a couple of questions should clarify that. You mentioned that the plans are approved ; Has the Building Permit been issued and if so in who's name? Who would be paying the accounts of all contractors and supliers? I assume you really need some assistance with the construction process with regards to quoting the different facets of the process, keeping an eye on quality and effeciency of the project and offering yourselves some advice. Most PM's in Domestic Housing work on approximately 10-15% of the total price of the project. I am happy to expand on this should you wish to private message. That's right I am referring to owner builder however we are looking for a builder who can quote the entire job as we have the completed plans and would like that builder to offer a service as a site supervisor to overlook the construction of our house. I know that the builder takes a percentage of the total amount but am shopping around to find a reliable builder at a reasonable price. My partner and I are able to provide the electrician and other tradesmen which will reduce the final completion cost but need guidance regarding the building of the entire property as we don't have time to monitor nor the relevant contacts. Builders are in great demand. I know many people who are struggling to find someone to build for them. I'm owner building at the moment, however my partner is a chippy and is pretty much building it and running the show for me. It's great i've gotten mates rates, builders rates for somethings and trade rates for others. My cousin wants to do the same thing as you as he requires a registered builder for the bank to finance the loan, but has found it difficult to secure the services of someone at a reasonable cost. Re: Looking for a project manager to build my home 7May 17, 2008 1:51 pm Hello all,
Thank you for all your responses. As I gathered it will be hard to find a builder who's ready to build. Can anyone recommend a builder who is prepared to take on this job as a project manager? The building permit is in my partner's name and we'll be paying for the job so moneys are available. We're ready to go!! If you need to pay for a project manager you would be well advised to just engage a builder who would take full responsibility for the build. As opposed to you OB where… 5 15078 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17591 Hi all, Been browsing project builders' website and saw Masterton with attached granny flat design Seeing bad reviews from masterton in this website/facebook, does… 0 18300 |
