Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building at Willowdale 3101Nov 02, 2017 11:44 am Hi all, we just recently started construction and a tree has been planted in our future driveway. I've tried calling stocklands but have not heard back yet. Has anyone else had this issue? What did you do to get it fixed? Re: Building at Willowdale 3102Nov 02, 2017 12:39 pm Hi, On some of the blocks in stage 15 the driveway is restricted to one side of plot. This should have been communicated to you with the development plan. I see all the blocks around mine has a new tree planted in the correct location as there are restrictions on drive way position on the blocks. Re: Building at Willowdale 3103Nov 02, 2017 1:13 pm As mentioned above each lot has had their driveway predetermined and that would have been seen in the release plans. You would have to have specifically requested stocklands to change your driveway location if you wanted it on the other side. cheers Re: Building at Willowdale 3104Nov 02, 2017 1:17 pm Thanks guys, i finally spoke with someone from stockland and they will organise to move the tree. I'm in stage 14 and my plans had the option of a driveway either LHS or RHS. I chose the RHS and these plans were submitted to stocklands. So not sure what happened there Re: Building at Willowdale 3105Nov 08, 2017 9:44 pm kly525 Thanks guys, i finally spoke with someone from stockland and they will organise to move the tree. So not sure what happened there Hi kly525, lol..yep - I had a tree planted on both sides in front of my block, despite the plans being submitted to stocklands. They eventually removed the ‘wrong’ tree, & all was good. Has anybody managed to do this themselves without paying somebody to do it? If so how did you go about it? The cheapest I found was blue gum design which charges around $400. I just made sure I drew it to scale on proper scale paper and put in a key to identify what is what. You can submit your own hand drawn landscape plans to council however council can be quite particular with this sort of stuff depending who you deal with and this has the potential to hold up your approvals process. As a qualified landscape designer I offer a landscape design service to people like yourself providing affordable landscape plans for DA and CDC approval for as low as $375 (please see advert on this website). Some people have had their hand drawn plans approved by council which I feel is a great cost saving exercise for them but others like the peace of mind of knowing they have a professionally drawn landscape plan which will get approved with no fuss at a relatively low cost. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a fee proposal which outlines my services. All the best. Y A R D landscape deisgn co. Re: Building at Willowdale 3112Dec 20, 2017 9:42 am Hi Everyone, Just received our CDC, we will be building with McDonald Jones soon, we're on the Wiregrass Ave. Is anyone building with McDonald Jones in the area? thanks Prakash Re: Building at Willowdale 3113Jan 03, 2018 3:50 pm Hi Everyone, Just wanting to know if anyone has gone through a nightmare I'm about to go through. Its the holiday period and my slab was built prior to Christmas and I have just discovered that the builder has used the wrong plans and built my slab in the wrong spot. I'm unsure how this would even have happened. So now I'm left with a 2 metre shorter backyard, a 10K encasement bill that I paid so that I didn't lose the 2 metres, and a slab that has been built because of someone's negligence. I'm unsure what options I have. I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone from the building company and am stressing to the max. Has anyone ever gone through this and if so, how was it rectified. The only way I see this rectified is if the slab is demolished and started again as I need to fit in a pool. Absolutely devastated and everyone is currently on holidays so this stressed out feeling will go on for another 2 weeks. My dream home in Willowdale has turned into a nightmare. I don't even know how something like this would happen considering the number of times I signed the plans over and over again. A site supervisor, a surveyor, a certifier and the concreter all missed it. I noticed it!! Has anyone had feedback from Campbelltown council regarding retaining walls? We were planning to use timber sleepers but I've been informed by someone from the council that retaining walls need to be made of masonary materials?? Re: Building at Willowdale 3117Feb 16, 2018 8:55 am I know that retaining walls at the front of the house (seen from street) need to be masonry or similar. This is in the willowdale design guideline. But behind the house i do not know. We might be in a similar position so would be good to know. cheers Re: Building at Willowdale 3118Feb 16, 2018 10:14 am Hi everyone, Can someone recommend me their PCI inspector they have additionally used to do PCI with your site supervisor?
