Just wonder though if anyone has encountered any snakes? Emm..... We see heaps birds and ducks on our side.. Not sure if they are coming for the insects... I did see some holes on our land, really hope there is no snake Red backs are common at my place. I think I may have seen a funnel web make it's home in the garden bed. Those are the easy pests to get rid of. We had mice in our roof! It freaked my Mrs out so I got in the roof and threw a bunch of poison satchets, lay mice traps and even bought one of those high frequency mouse deterrents! Seemed to have got rid of them all for now. I walk my dog all around the whole estate (long grass , bush, around the creeks) haven't seen any snakes. Re: Building at Willowdale 1692Aug 15, 2015 12:01 am I've had a few red backs in the yard & in some building materials yet to be used that are in the yard. No snakes though, but that might be because of the location if the block (not near the wooded areas/water). Sorry to hear you've had mice JnSWILLOWDALE hope there's no damage in the roof cavity. Have you found any ticks on your doggy after a walk in the longer grass? Hope not Re: Building at Willowdale 1693Aug 15, 2015 2:07 am Let's hope the snakes stay away. I have a friend who was working out at Oran park and he saw a brown snake out there once nearby the shops. Re: Building at Willowdale 1694Aug 15, 2015 8:47 am Let's hope the snakes stay away. Building at Willowdale 1695Aug 15, 2015 9:15 am I've already planned to plant heaps lemongrass, lavender and different sorts of herbs around the house, to keep the insects away - after seeing a hand size black spider in the display homes at Gregory Hills
Re: Building at Willowdale 1696Aug 15, 2015 5:06 pm paul_willowEBH Let's hope the snakes stay away. I have a friend who was working out at Oran park and he saw a brown snake out there once nearby the shops. We are currently living at Macquarie Links. HEAPS of brown snakes here every summer. A few years ago our black lab was bitten by a brown snake which came at me. She survived but only after a week in the pet hospital and $7,000 later. Don't care really she is part of the family. The bottom line: you can be certain that there are snakes in Willowdale estate. If you see one leave it alone and it probably won't come near you. If one becomes a problem contact Ingleburn Fire Brigade ( or any other nearby I guess). You can discourage them by not giving them anywhere to live/hide. They don't like being n the open so minimise piles of wood etc. Deposit paid 3/9/14. Tender signed 3/10/14.
