Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building at Willowdale 1589Jul 31, 2015 12:14 pm Hi Tandy2015, My timeframe (H&L with EBH) was initially going to be 3-3.5 months from registration to commencement of construction (break ground), however I had some weeks of council delay, so my start was set back by another 2-3weeks. I had a bit of a delay until EBH could lay the slab due to weather and availability of trades/labour (which added approx 4-6weeks till slab was laid). Once it was on the ground, I received the invoice payment request for it. There are lots of friendly peeps here building w McDJH who may like to give specifics, otherwise from what I understand, my timeframe is roughly true for a lot of builders (but please do feel free to advise otherwise ) Sent using Tapatalk Re: Building at Willowdale 1590Jul 31, 2015 1:16 pm Hi tandy2015, we are on Grantham Crescent (Lot 3125). We have bought H&L package from Eden Brae. This week our land got registered and in Sept the construction will begin. I was told that the house will be ready in 6 months. What's your lot no? Re: Building at Willowdale 1591Jul 31, 2015 1:32 pm tandy2015 Hi, Just wondering if anyone can share what the general timeframes are between settling on land (registered) and start of construction? We have purchased a H&L package with McDJH and will be exchanging land contracts shortly. Approx when will we be required to exchange on the build contracts, and what are the timelines to first payment on the slab? Is anyone else on Grantham Crescent? Hi Tandy2015, We are building with MJH too but I'm not sure how the process may differ as we don't have a H&L package. From what I have seen around the estate, H&L package houses seem to spring up quickly! You can get an idea of our timeframes with the builder if you visit my blog below and click on the timeline tab at the top. To give you an idea, we settled on 15 April and construction commenced on 19 June (site preparation). Our site supervisor thinks they could be finished by late Nov/early Dec. I must say McDonald Jones have really moved us along quite quickly and we have been super happy with the service so far. What house are you building? Good luck with it all Re: Building at Willowdale 1592Jul 31, 2015 5:47 pm Thanks for the detail, I guess that's expensive compared to standard timber framing Re: Building at Willowdale 1593Jul 31, 2015 8:02 pm kte igu kte All good Hun. We are in Moriarty Street. Have you guys started building yet? Hi Kte..we are in Moriarty st too. Lot 2144. Building with New Living Homes. We too had nearly 2 weeks delay in settlement as the bank used wrong address in valuation report. Looking fwd for CDC and Looks like there's a couple of weeks delay at our builder office. Wish you all the best for exciting and smooth construction and beyond. Hey igu, We are just across the road from you. We are 2142. Ohh no there seems to be a bit of confusion of the actual address hey. We are building with Wisdom homes and they have on our document we are in Denham court and then on other documents it's east leppington. Fingers crossed it's not too long of a wait for all of us. Good luck with your build! Hey KTE. Lot 2142 is definitely in Campbelltown Council area and therefore in Denham Court. It's shown on the plan of subdivision. That may well change in the future as Camden and Campbelltown Councils have applied for the council boundary to be changed so that the whole of Willowdale estate will be in Camden. Deposit paid 3/9/14. Tender signed 3/10/14. Contract signed 22/10/14 Construction commenced September 2015 PCI 7/3/16 Re: Building at Willowdale 1594Aug 03, 2015 5:23 pm Got our rates notice today from Campbelltown council ( as our lot falls within that part of Baden Powell). I'm sure it's been mentioned before but $1500 for a house that more than likely won't be complete till next March definitely hurts! Re: Building at Willowdale 1595Aug 03, 2015 6:51 pm Us too Paul. The $31 for domestic waste availability is particularly galling given we won't get bins until we move in! Deposit paid 3/9/14. Tender signed 3/10/14. Contract signed 22/10/14 Construction commenced September 2015 PCI 7/3/16 Re: Building at Willowdale 1596Aug 03, 2015 7:10 pm Got our rates from Campbelltown aswell . It definitely hurts when you have to pay for something that your not really using! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78449 Re: Building at Willowdale 1598Aug 03, 2015 7:53 pm I agree @Paul, @Mark, @PhoenixRose, & @KD8588! This is my second year of full fee rates paid...but don't forget the quarterly water rates including full fee sewer service that isn't being used just yet It'll all be worth it when you are finally in your lovely new homes Sent using Tapatalk Re: Building at Willowdale 1600Aug 04, 2015 3:40 pm tandy2015 Hi, Just wondering if anyone can share what the general timeframes are between settling on land (registered) and start of construction?
