When you put your two cents in do you call them or email? I have been told emailing is good as you have written documentation to go back to however have also heard things get nowhere unless you are constantly calling and wanting answers? Re: Experiences with Blueprint Homes 63Aug 05, 2014 10:52 am Hey guys! Im a bit late to the party but thought I would give you my feedback. We are building with blueprint in Southern river. (Bletchley Park) So far the experience has been really positive. They get back to you within 24 hours of an email, and there hasnt been any major problems (there was a minor one with the crossover but we got the result we wanted, see my blog if you want details.) The only negative, and this isnt really BP fault its more the workmen....Is that the site is a mess. Theres rubbish, bottles and junk everywhere and the other day there was a broken door, and exersize bike and a plant pot just laying there. This is quite common, but sometimes when I drive past other peoples blocks I feel they could keep things a bit cleaner. Thats my only gripe really. We are at platering stage right now, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask or PM me. When you put your two cents in do you call them or email? I have been told emailing is good as you have written documentation to go back to however have also heard things get nowhere unless you are constantly calling and wanting answers? I constantly email and yes they do reply. But at this stage I felt like it wasn't enough. We were still waiting for our loan provider Keystart to sign off our building plans but after a month it still wasn't done so I contacted Keystart myself asked what was going on and they said they were were waiting for the plans. So therefore took the initiative to tell our prestart lady the issue and funnily enough it was all sorted that day. Then there was another issue with the developers approval, they told Blueprint about 2 conditions that we needed to fix but we were only told about 1 of them. We fixed that thought that it was done then couple weeks later BP come back with another condition. I got angry because it seemed as though we were going no where I was wondering why the developer didn't give us all the conditions the first time. So rang BP they said it was developers fault, so I then rang developer and she informed me that they did tell BP everything but it was there fault for missing out the 2nd condition. Anyway, we ended up sorting it out but by calling and going straight to the source I felt like I accomplished more. I got it all sorted out and now we are in scheduling. Thank god!!! Re: Experiences with Blueprint Homes 65Aug 06, 2014 12:20 pm I guess its as so many people have told me... 'building a house is a lot of hard work but its worth it in the end' I guess this all just gives me a heads up for what I have to look forward to. Yeah it takes a lot longer then they tell you at the start! Admin is just a drag. But I would always advice to email regularly if you arent getting updates and if you feel somethings not right, call them! It pays to complain. Being nice doesn't get you anywhere, unfortunately, these days. Re: Experiences with Blueprint Homes 67Aug 06, 2014 2:54 pm Charlie Hustle I guess its as so many people have told me... Since your still waiting for titles and it's now August. I would keep ringing or emailing your developer to see whats happening. Our titles were initially due in December and they kept getting held back to January, then February. By end of March I was fed up and contacted the developer to see what the problem was...they then said it was an internal issue and that I would need to write a stat dec up to get titles moving. Titles were then received in April. So if I hadn't of questioned them...who knows when we would have received them! Just make sure your always on top of things. We are in the lucky position that we don't mind if it isn't titled until a little later as it gives us more time to save some money... but if we haven't heard anything by September we will get in touch to see how things are coming along. Unfortunate about the rubbish :/ Hmm I guess as long as they are building and doing a good job. If not, I would be having a go at the supervisor on site. I am in scheduling now. Just wondering how many weeks it took from scheduling to slab down? Re: Experiences with Blueprint Homes 70Aug 06, 2014 10:42 pm I liked Blueprints display home and met a nice sales rep as well. Hopefully they are worth the risk !! Thanks Re: Experiences with Blueprint Homes 71Aug 07, 2014 9:51 am alishine143 I liked Blueprints display home and met a nice sales rep as well. Hopefully they are worth the risk !! Thanks That's great. Just remember that no matter how nice the sales guy are, they are still a sales guy. Its their job to be nice. Beware of phrases such as "oh you can add that in prestart" or "it will only cost x amount". Being First Home Buyers we believed everything and now have realised how expensive stuff is to add in prestart. So just be careful and get everything in writing. Make sure you get all your big priced items in your plans, so you know how much your spending. Don't let them rush you when making a decision. Stick your ground and don't take no for an answer, if they don't listen just say you'll find another company to build your house. I hope asking the builder for different floor plan will not come back to haunt me during costing. I have been chopping and changing so much .. Re: Experiences with Blueprint Homes 73Aug 15, 2014 12:25 pm We just got word that our land is due to be titled in roughly 6 weeks time, works out perfectly for us! was meant to be this month but we didn't mind if it was delayed a bit (means more time to save some money). 6 weeks meaning roughly the end of September is great! Fantastic! That's great news for you guys! Yeah am very happy, not to mention they told me just last Monday that the building contract would be 2-3 weeks away only to have a phone call from our building consultant Friday just gone that they are completed and ready to be signed. We went in Saturday and have since signed it all, the site works came in cheaper than they estimated too! Nothing but positives so far, even gave me another bottle of champagne on Saturday as we had to wait 10 minutes for his previous meeting to finish. Really cant be happier with how things are going. Hope that keeps going on throughout. Gud luck ! Can any one tell me if the prestart happens before the titles get released or after? My title will only release in November. My build:http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72882[/quote] Well I thought that prestart was after titles...thats how it was in my case. But I have noticed other people have been different. I think that the soil contour survey is what needs to be completed for blueprint to then finalise your contracts and organise prestart. Hope that helps! You have mandatory building inspections and privately engaged building inspections. The difference between the two comes down to inspecting the building so it's safe and… 3 18058 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74688 |
