Hi guys,
Just to introduce myself; my wife and I are now planning our first build; after having lived in a few homes now.
We really are interested in something a bit special and with a really good quality build. Of course, like everyone else, we're on a budget; so we're going for a good quality single-storey rather than pushing to the edge of a budget with a double.
One of the things I'm struggling with is whether to go for a "premium" builder or to go with one of the higher volume builders. I'm assuming that I can get the "normal" builder to build up to a high spec; but I'm wondering what else I'm missing out on. The premium builders do seem expensive, and I'm pretty sure that there's a "Brand" premium that I'm paying. Has anyone build a high spec home with the volume builders? Is there more to it?
Oh and I'm out in WA, so the premium builders I'm thinking off are: Residential Attitudes and Webb & Brown-Neaves and I'm comparing them to Dale Alcock, Don Russell, APG etc.
Cheers!
