Someone on this forum was invoiced for tipping extra asbestos, but when they asked for the tipping fee receipt, the demolisher dropped the extra fee. I doubt ours was a scam. We have a friend who does asbestos certificates. He prepared a report for us, saying where he could find asbestos, and the demolisher used this in preparing their quote. The report said he only found asbestos in the walls of the older half of the house (with the possibility of more). The demolishers found it was also in the newer half and the internal wall which was originally external wall. In the bathroom, the tiles were glued on to the asbestos. The concrete steps had broken pieces of asbestos embedded into it. Each time they found some more he called me in to look at it and was very apologetic. He struck me as very nice and sincere. I think if he was that good at acting and scamming me, he could just forget the demolition business earn alot more as a full-time con-artist.
