Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 28, 2013 11:49 am Hi all, Been following along a few peoples builds and seeing as mine is finally starting, thought I should post my own! We are building with Aussie living in the lexia estate. We signed up in January this year. We have had all our finance done, prestart done and settlement done as well. Now we are just waiting on a slab! Our CL told us they were starting earthworks late this week or early next with concreters hopefully starting late next week! So fingers crossed. It has been a very long process just to get this far so it would be really nice to finally see some action! We have been waiting so long! And it would be good to have one done before they close over Christmas! How has your process been with Aussie so far? Re: First home in ellenbrook 4Dec 02, 2013 4:52 pm We started our process in April, everything has been great. We had everything done and organised in June and were just waiting for titles, which were released last month. Who is your sales person? We have Leon who has been amazing! We has contracts and everything signed in feb. Titles released end of May. Then keystart really stuffed us around for finance. Our unconditional approval didn't go through till august then had settlement in sept. We had Nathan as our sales guy. He was really really good too! We went through iconic home loans and keystart for the finance and I really wasn't happy with the service we received. I had 4 different people dealing with our file, and it was as if none of them even knew each other!! The communication between them was horrible! Really happy that's over. We now have Ashleigh as our client liaison. So fingers crossed! So far so good. Gets back to me really quick as well. We had two people have our file at iconic home loans which at times was difficult, I just asked my settlement agent all my questions I had. We went through bank west and had no issues, but a friend went through key start and had similar problems to you. I can't wait to know who our client liaison is so I can bombard them with questions. I'm so stoked! Perfect timing so it can sit and cure over the Christmas break! When will yours be down? Ashleeeigh Re: First home in ellenbrook 11Dec 08, 2013 9:59 pm Lewis350 Yay Ashleeeigh! Conslabulations! We are at the same stage as you. Do you gave a plan that we can see, or pics of your colour selection or slab? Looking forward to following your build..... Hi and thank you! Where abouts are you building? It sounds silly but I have no idea how to put pics up any help would be greatly appreciated! Ashleeeigh Re: First home in ellenbrook 13Dec 09, 2013 10:43 am Ok I think I figured it out! Here is my floor plan. I don't know what the original plan was like as we made changes straight away. We changed quite a few things. We extended the ensuite and WIR in the main bedroom out under the eaves. We now have a double shower and his and hers WIR. We put in a WIL and WIP. We also enclosed the theater and put double door on that too. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ For the colour selection, we have kept everything super basic. Black and white. we thought that would be best. That way if we want to add a pop of color it's not going to clash with anything. I don't have a photo of the tiles. But again they are black and white. We have gone for black floor tiles in all areas of the house. We have gone for basic beige carpet in the bedrooms but we will pull up our bedroom an the theater and put better carpet in darker colors. Here are the laminex colours for the benches and cupboards. They are the same in the kitchen, ensuite, bathroom and laundry. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ashleeeigh Re: First home in ellenbrook 15Dec 09, 2013 8:36 pm Lewis350 Looking good! What size is your house? I personally like doors everywhere esp for cooling/heating/sound/hiding stuff ;P so would have put them on your WIR, Laundry and passage ways. The block is 447m2. We thought about closing those areas off, but it ment quite a few structual changes and it was getting too costly. Ashleeeigh Re: First home in ellenbrook 16Jan 15, 2014 12:54 pm So everything has been loaded onto our site and it's all ready to go.. But there's a brickie shortage so now it's back to waiting. Ashleeeigh Re: First home in ellenbrook 17Jan 15, 2014 1:25 pm A friend was told the same thing, she waited two weeks after everything was delivered before brickwork started. Hopefully yours isn't too long as well. We're there too on Stage 8 just waiting for slab to go down, was hoping our would've been before Xmas for that very reason of curing over the break but didn't come to fruition! Your plan looks great. look forward to seeing your build progress Re: First home in ellenbrook 19Jan 17, 2014 10:44 am John + Ash Hi Ashleeeigh Have just come across your thread, where abouts on Lexia. Your plan looks great. look forward to seeing your build progress Hi John + Ash, We are in stage 6 on Gibbney way. Yeah we thought it was perfect timing and that as soon as Aussie re opened after Christmas they could get straight into it. Turns out it wouldn't have mattered as we are still waiting. Slab has been down for 5 weeks now and still no clue as to when the brickies will start. Our CL called me yesterday to say everything is fully loaded but she couldn't give me any idea as to when they will start. My partner and I will go have a look next weds and in a hope they might have started.. We weren't told till a week after our slab was down that it was actually there. We went and found out our self so hoping the same for the bricks. Really hoping they start soon! So sick of renting and the other couple we rent with. Just want our own space! Ashleeeigh Re: First home in ellenbrook 20Jan 23, 2014 5:41 pm After receiving a email from our CL yesterday saying that she still didn't have a date the brickies would start, I was pretty devastated. This morning I just had this feeling that I needed to go see our block, and to my surprise when I got there, the brickies were working away! Yay! Finally it's started! They only started this morning and had done heaps! I'm stoked! A little disappointed with our CL though, there seems to be some lack of communication between her and the ss. Think I'm just gonna go when I feel like it instead of waiting to hear if any things happening. Ashleeeigh So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 29197 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
