Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 12, 2008 10:24 am I've really enjoyed looking at all the pics of your house builds on here so I thought I'd share ours too
We bought our 800 sm block last June, it took a while to find a builder but we got there in the end! We are using a smallish company called Angelco Homes and we are really pleased with most things so far. I have a few issues with their saleslady but thats another story Using a smaller company means we mainly deal directly with the owners not a faceless person on the other end of a phone. Our house is a hybrid house, we are having the Barcelona (ish!!) facade and the interior of the Montreal. The only little niggle I have is that they are quite set in their ways and any colour variations I have wanted have been greeted with a look that kind of says "crazy Poms" Even the kitchen guy we have had to use has looked a bit confounded when I didn't want the units that he was steering us towards saying "well thats what most people choose" I'm not "most people" his face was a picture when I asked him to price for a Shaker style kitchen,, he said no one had ever asked for that style before!!!! As I said, small niggles though, nothing major. So heres a few pics for you all,, I have thousands but will keep it to a minimum! Our block last year http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/poppett/P2160064.jpg waffle slab down, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/poppett/P3080133-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/poppett/P3080128-1.jpg frame up and windows in, we were very impressed with the quality of the frame,, our neighbours are using a well known company and the difference in the quality was quite visible, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/poppett/P4050191.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/poppett/P4050194.jpg roof on, Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ brickwork nearly finished,, I'm slightly disappointed with the bricks, there are a few too many red ones in there for my liking, but we were told that there would be a variation in colours and to be honest theres not a lot they can do about it now so I'll have to learn to love them!! We still haven't chosen our tiles so thats the next step for us. Thanks for looking, Lorraine Re: As promised! Lorraine and Simons house build. 3May 12, 2008 11:05 am Yes, thanx for the photos. I do like the look and style of your house. That last photo, with timber door installed and old style verandah posts really shows how it all pulls together. Nice! Re: As promised! Lorraine and Simons house build. 11Jun 13, 2008 6:00 pm Bout time I put up some more pics!

All of their houses in that style that we have seen finished have been kind of identical,, we managed to keep in budget (just!) and change pretty much everything the builders looked kind of bemused but now they have seen it coming together they are as pleased as us! Re: As promised! Lorraine and Simons house build. 16Jun 13, 2008 6:46 pm Lorraine, you have elegant taste. What a gorgeous kitchen. It ties in beautifully with the style of your house AND I love the brickwork. You don't see this kind of brickwork in Sydney.
Can't wait to see more of how you pull it all together. WELL DONE Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: As promised!
