Not sure what I'm doing wrong lol :/ Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 42Mar 18, 2014 11:39 pm Cleo5117 Hahaha not far at all. I haven't taken my dogs out there yet, my boxer is a bit crazy so he needs lots of room! It's so frustrating & I've said the same to my partner because it's so hard with them working away to hey? And we got our quote for the concrete alone (exposed Agricarte) was $30k because our block is 75metres deep and for the shed then all that garden etc to. If we had brought established we wouldn't have this problem haha but oh well it will be exactly what we want I guess. Awesome I'll check out your plan, I get it's fab We have a boxer puppy!!!! Aren't they the best! So much fun. Yep, Clayton gets annoyed because he can't be back for important decision making but thankfully he has caved and letting me do most of the selections by myself because he "trusts my judgement"... That or he will blame me forever if he hates it haha. Fun and games. So what stage are you guys up to then? Just in the paperwork stage? Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 43Mar 18, 2014 11:49 pm OMG... I love my boxer! He's pure bred completely white & a complete little knuckle head named Knox. Haha We are at final contract so next swing micks home we sign off on the contract with the bank then they order the frame work & slab etc. We organised all our selections, tile appointments etc around the dates he was home so that was ok just took longer. Aww... Knox is a fitting name. Ours is a girl called Nala (we have had a Simba), she's red, black and white. Love them! Got her from a breeder in Angle Vale actually. Awesome! You will probably be in your house before we even start. It seems to take forever for us. When are your start and finish dates? Saw the pic of the block. Massive! Is it in a new estate? Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 45Mar 19, 2014 12:02 am So cute! We also have a 16yo golden retriever so once he leaves us we are looking at getting a girl boxer. Knox is so hypo and got attacked by a staffy a few months back because he's SO playful and dumb. According to our mysimonds building site start date is May 30th but I'm hoping it's a bit sooner than that. I actually work at the bank our loans through so I'm hoping I can push it through without any delays. They say to allow a max of 7 months because it's two story I guess? It's actually off Stevens road so it's surrounded by older houses & our whole street is brand new which I love. Where abouts are you originally from? Your house plan is gorgous too. Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 48Mar 19, 2014 8:12 am Thankyou Yes we went pretty big haha, but the house is I think 333sqm alone. It's safe to say I'm getting a cleaner and gardener lol. How's your house coming along? My partner, myself & our miss 8 year old are building "The Cleo" with Simonds Homes. Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 49Mar 19, 2014 8:50 am Its come to a crawl. It started off really quickly (once our land settled) however we're so close to the end yet can't find out a PCI date as our SS changed a few weeks ago and everything has to be recomfirmed. i was hoping to be in before Easter but am not holding my breath now. I hear that Simonds in SA is really good and very informative, its a bit different in Vic. Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 50Mar 19, 2014 9:49 am I love the splashback you used... we used a similar one as well, (looked great in the Bentleyt on display) but a stack stone. The house looks really nice, it's a great usable floorplan too Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Building With Simonds Homes in SA 51Mar 19, 2014 11:40 am I fell inlove with the bentleigh so I go back all the time & take pics and still ideas. Haha Right down to the wall paper :/ I love it so my daughter can have her space upstairs when she gets sick of hanging out with us lol. Oh that sucks that you've got delays so close to the end! Our SS is really good so I hope she doesn't go anywhere. I checked out your post it looks great My partner, myself & our miss 8 year old are building "The Cleo" with Simonds Homes. She has been so on the ball for us, I never have to follow up anything with her, she's always on it or emails/calls to update me. Love it. I was so glad too, because Haydn was a champ and the last thing you want is to have a good SC and then fall in to the hands of a rep who isnt as great, but she really deserves a medal that girl. Even the selections lady she's like "ok I've highlighted this because I wanted to laugh about it but why do you have an air conditioning vent in your bathroom?" Hahahaha I'm like um so my makeup doesn't melt off in summer I wrote a list to ask Haydn and my partners like no, your so embarrassing hahaha. Thankyou fairmont. Where are u building? I'm from Gawler.. x Aww Knox Nala's idea of playing when we go for a walk and see other dogs is like "if I jump on top of them, we'll be best friends, right?!?!" She's had a few run ins with other dogs for being too playful, but even when they snap at her she isn't fazed haha. May isn't too far away when you think about it. We are June 30th with a finish 5 days before Xmas, so I'd say 6-7 months and you're right on the money. Working at the bank would definitely help. My mum works at the one we are going through and she always gives us the best advice. I don't know Angle Vale well enough to know the roads, but it's certainly getting much bigger and really isn't far from the beach or town. Great spot! I'm from the Barossa Valley, went to Nuri High and my partner is from the West Coast. I live with my mum at the moment and she lives in Willaston. So thankful to have been able to live rent free and save a small fortune. Loving the photos! The facade is awesome! Is that the same one on the display in Blakeview? I always go into the Dechellis display homes to get inspiration and take photos too. It's like a whole new world has opened up to me haha. They know me too well in more than one display area... He's so playful, gatta love boxers. I'm really hoping it doesn't take forever but winters going to no doubt cause some delays. I went out there tonight after work & the houses are going up so quick. I noticed a new porta loo too & called my partner to say I can't wait to see a toilet on our block hahaha!! Oh ok I went to Xavier College & always lived in gawler so we have prob crossed each other in the local Coles hahaha. So lucky u can live at home & save. I don't think my parents would appreciate me rocking up with my bags, partner, daughter & dogs. Lol It's very close to the Bentleigh... I find it so hard to picture things in my head that will work so I think ill just continue to copy what I already love about the display homes to How many square metres is your actual house? Im scared I have a lot of floors to clean haha. My partner, myself & our miss 8 year old are building "The Cleo" with Simonds Homes. Im scared I have a lot of floors to clean haha. We have a few friends with Boxers and they are all the same. Sooky and mental cases at the same time. I am trying to stop myself from going out to the block all of the time. It makes me depressed to see nothing but weeds and all the other houses going up. A porta loo is progress. I'd be excited about that too! Don't forget to take a photo lol. Ah yes. I know a few people from Xavier that more than likely know you too. I was in Coles tonight actually....... haha. Good thinking 99. I do the same thing. Find a picture or display that I really love and go with that. We have copied a lot. I'm almost too scared to experiment. With all of the samples being so small for tiles, paints and joinery, I'd be too scared that it wouldn't look good if I hadn't already seen the big picture. Couldn't be on The Block! We are 290sqm I think. Might be able to see it on my thread. There's a lot of tile flooring which scares met too!!! Can't imagine what I'll be like when our house actually starts. We are having a tiler come in after & have decided to go with the 600x600 porcelain tiles throughout our living/kitchen areas in a latte colour. Bedrooms, staircase and two of the lounge rooms will be chocolate brown carpet that we are also having done after hand over. Now to find where these display homes buy all the gorgeous furniture and nik naks!! The house we are in now I helped renovate it all, was so fun doing it but the house is like 80's house with a modern inside. Nothing like ripping off tiles, redoing the kitchen, painting in your havvies. I really need to find your blog & check it out.. Not sure why I find it so hard to work this site out.
