Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 23, 2013 11:18 pm Hi! We're close to the end of the build and wanted to put the driveway in before handover while the concreter was still available. However, we were told we couldn't do the fencing or the driveway until handover. Now we're even closer to handover and we're being told that we can't get an interim occupancy certificate until we have a driveway (we are on a battleaxe, so the driveway from our property to the road is already there, just the 5m from that driveway to our house left). What's the issue with no driveway? It's not that I don't plan of getting one, I just have to wait for it. I can install weed mat or something if there's a concern about erosion, but I can't imagine it should be something for which I can't move in. Of course, now the concreter is away till Jan 10 next year, so does that mean I will have handover for a house that is "not complete" and I can't live in until then? We can't afford to carry two loans until then - that's thousands of dollars of interest! Cheers Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21?
