Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 23, 2013 11:18 pm Hi! We're close to the end of the build and wanted to put the driveway in before handover while the concreter was still available. However, we were told we couldn't do the fencing or the driveway until handover. Now we're even closer to handover and we're being told that we can't get an interim occupancy certificate until we have a driveway (we are on a battleaxe, so the driveway from our property to the road is already there, just the 5m from that driveway to our house left). What's the issue with no driveway? It's not that I don't plan of getting one, I just have to wait for it. Of course, now the concreter is away till Jan 10 next year, so does that mean I will have handover for a house that is "not complete" and I can't live in until then? We can't afford to carry two loans until then - that's thousands of dollars of interest! Cheers Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10982 Hi Simeon, Thank you for laying it down for us. Makes sense. Appreciate it very much. Have a nice day. Cheers 2 9030 |
