Don't know how much want to keep in my block. Re: Soil Removal after site cut/fill 3Nov 22, 2013 6:54 am i would just ask builder to move it especially if he has already included removal in costs Re: Soil Removal after site cut/fill 4Nov 22, 2013 7:15 am Based on the contract included. Builder say allowed only 1500$. If removalist is charged more than that, I have to pay the difference. Re: Soil Removal after site cut/fill 5Nov 22, 2013 9:10 am we had more then half the dirt then you had and even though we were not charged we were told it would not have been more then 1500 to move Re: Soil Removal after site cut/fill 6Nov 22, 2013 9:17 am Can you please let me know how soil you was removed. How many trucks/ tons I can get an idea when mine removed and cost. Re: Soil Removal after site cut/fill 7Nov 24, 2013 7:59 pm We had to bring in vast amounts of fill for our build, approx 1300M3! Prior to this we had about 150M3 of topsoil scraped off. Not one bucket load was taken from the block. It was all used in gardens, grass areas, general levelling etc. We nearly did not have enough. As said calculate your needs and shift it to your block if possible. It is surprising how little area can be covered with what appears to be so much soil. I must also add that the price you have been given compared to our total price seems excessive. Admittedly we live in a rural area so machinery is more available, but based on a guesstimate of the quantity of soil it should not take a decent operator that long to move that quantity of soil. There is two part of soils available for removal, one is clean fill took from piering/trenching from site works. another one is developer spread the mulch/wood chips/dusts over the site area.it was cleared before site cut. I will ask my builder to keep the all clean fill for future landscaping use and removed the soil mixed with mulch, wood chips/dusts. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you.
