Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 21, 2013 6:00 am Hi - Built new knockdown rebuild this year. have issue with windows, we paid window company directly but paid 20% builders margin on top (PA item refunded less 20%) , builder now saying they are not responsible for warranty issues and 20% margin was only for installation. Anyone been in similar situation? Re: New Home warranty and builders margin 2Nov 21, 2013 6:20 am While I can't comment, have you gone to the window supplier? Even if the builder was taking responsibility, they'd just go straight to the supplier to get it fixed anyway; unless the problem was the fitment (in which case the window supplier would probably just wash their hands of the whole deal). Re: New Home warranty and builders margin 3Nov 21, 2013 7:13 am Check your contract. We are installing our own flooring and it specifically says even though its being installed by our own supplier the builder acknowledges they will cover it for a reasonable period if damage occurs as a result of works they carried out (ie slab moves, broken water pipes). It must be said somewhere in your contract about their responsibility for owner supplied materials. Hi All, we are starting to think of building with Masterpiece Builders in Victoria, has anyone had any feedback or experience with them 0 13588 1 7941 Thanks again Simeon for being so elaborate. Appreciate it. Its gives us a very idea. Kind Regards 4 3666 |
