Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 20, 2013 10:23 am Hi all, we have just started to look for a block of land to build our dream home. Haven't decided area yet but maybe rural like Googong or in town Coombs area... Anyway-looking for peoples experiences with Blackett Homes? I did a quick search and couldn't really find anything. Thanks Re: Looking for recommendations for builders 2Nov 20, 2013 7:47 pm We are only at contract stage, but have found Blackett to be excellent to deal with. They do have a good reputation, and have won a few awards over the years. The main thing I suggest (no matter what builder you choose!) is make sure you understand what is included, and what is not. For example, a quote from Ruiz will seem far more expensive than one from Masterton or MDJ, but the Ruiz quote has floor coverings, heating, decent lighting already included, while Masteron and MDJ don't. Also, don't think that the base price is actually what you can pay to live in the place. on a 300k base price, bank on at least another 100k before you can move in. Re: Looking for recommendations for builders 3Nov 22, 2013 9:48 am I have two friends who have built with Blackett Homes and they said it was all very upfront and easy and the quality was amazing. I am about to go and talk to them as well. Good luck with your searching Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6886 Hi team, Im looking for a second hand sd4b monitor preferably white. 0 8923 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes.
