Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 19, 2013 2:53 pm We are going to have two bathrooms and an ensuite in our new home. Did you do all your bathrooms in the same colours (for tiles & cupboards & benchtops) or did you do them in different colours? Did you match your laundry room to your bathrooms or to your kitchen? Or was it a completely different set of colours? Feel free to post pics My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 2Nov 19, 2013 3:21 pm I have two bathrooms (main one and ensuite) and matched both of them to each other (with some minor differences eg tiled niche and shower base in ensuite but standard base and no niche in main bathroom). The builder didn't give me the option to use different colours in each one but I suppose I could have if I wanted to. My laundry has the same floor tiles as the bathrooms but I also tried to link it in with the kitchen by having black tiles to mirror the black splashback in the kitchen. Good luck with making all your choices Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 4Nov 19, 2013 3:43 pm We are doing the ensuite in a White floor tile white wall tiles, white cabinets, and a small strip of blue feature tiles around the wall. Main Bathroom we are doing a black floor tile, white wall tile and cabinets, and black caesarstone countertop, so the horizontal surfaces are black and vertical are white. Laundry is all white. One thing we were sure of is that we were NOT having brown/beige tiles, cabinets and benchtops, like 90% of the display homes at the moment Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 5Nov 19, 2013 4:51 pm We have an ensuite, 2 bathrooms and a powder room with a shower. All are the same including the laundry. White gloss wall tiles and white unpolished floor tiles, white cupboards, all with white shimmer caesarstone. All very boring, but safe just in case we want to sell. Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 7Nov 19, 2013 5:48 pm My ensuite is wall and floor tiles the same in charcoal and then I have carried this through the flooring of the other wet areas. In the other wet areas the walls have a whitish greyish tile with deep anthracite cabinets in the bathrooms and polar white in the laundry. No pics as yet but hoping it looks ok!! Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 8Nov 19, 2013 5:53 pm We did the same in both bathroom and ensuite, large grey floor tiles and grey cabinets then white stone bench top and white wall tiles, no feature tiles as the standard ones already felt dated so went larger tiles instead. I think the laundry comes down to location, if it was off the kitchen I'd probably match to there but near the bathroom match there but so much is personal preference We have the same stone in bathrooms and kitchen Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 9Nov 20, 2013 7:14 am We have three bathrooms plus a powder room and we have done them all exactly the same. Dark grey floor tiles, white wall tiles, charcoal feature tile in the shower niche and above vanity. Licorice linea vanities and osprey stone on the vanities. In saying that though our laundry will be off the kitchen so will keep selections similar between the two. We then have two bathrooms that I will keep the same. Then ensuite will have the same taps and sinks etc as the two bathrooms but I'll try to tie in with the colours from the bedroom for the tiles. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 12Nov 20, 2013 9:16 am We have an ensuite, two bathrooms, two powder rooms and a laundry. Our ensuite and one the main bathroom in the old section of the house will be the same a the moment leaning towards a grey cement tile, all other rooms will be a white marble style tile. I do like consistently but it's also about the size of the rooms and the natural light each room gets <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 13Nov 20, 2013 9:29 am Thanks everyone. I'm thinking I will keep the ensuite and one bathroom the same and maybe make the kids bathroom a little brighter. I'm thinking of beiges and browns for the ensuite and bathroom and perhaps mostly white with a splash of colour for the kids bathroom. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 14Nov 20, 2013 11:48 am I have gone for different bathrooms. In the main bathroom we have a white tile on floor and walls that have a pinstripe through them. I thought they were a bit of a feature for the bathroom that most people will see. There is then white gloss cabinets and benchtop. My ensuite and laundry are matching with white tiles on walls and a marble look on the floor with the ensuite cabinets matching the white gloss cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen and a black marble benchtop like the kitchen. The floor tiles in these rooms will be used in a bigger size throughout the house. Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA. We have 4 ensuites, two powder rooms, a laundry attached to one powder room and then a full bathroom setup out in our pool house. The kids ensuites have the same white tiles on the walls but they have a feature tile and floor tile suited to each different child (pale aqua, amethyst purple and red/charcoal). Our ensuite is all in neutral tonings like our bedroom. The garage powder room has black floor tiles as it gets the dirtiest. The laundry and adjoining powder room were chosen around the stone I had bought for the benchtop - so chocolate brown and jade green. The pool house has a tropical / Hawaiian feel so white tiles combined with a raw choc linen look tile and choc floor tiles. Our home will never be sold (at least by us LOL) so we chose what we loved. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 16Nov 21, 2013 9:36 pm We have three bathrooms and two powder rooms all the same except essastone in our ensuite and toilet and just laminate the same as all the cabinets in the others as there is just two of us. Kitchen, scullery and laundry all the same cabinets as bathrooms but different essastone tops. Overheads in a pale polytech colour. I like a lot of matching!! We had a designer to help us choose. Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 17Nov 22, 2013 7:38 pm We are doing all the same - with the aim of consistency and flow. Re: Bathrooms - all the same or different 18Nov 23, 2013 5:53 am the two ensuites in my home are the same they have a beige beach theme while with the main bathroom is different having a black and white theme wall to ceiling tiles and a black and white free standing bath. all walls in the house are the same quarter grey pebble top section of house has bed 2 3 4 all with white plantation shutters including the ensuite in bed 4 , the only different planation shutter is the black in the main bathroom the laundry has a grey benchtop. the kitchen and pantry also study have the same stone tops and glass splashbacks. we two toned the colors light and dark greys yep you need a joint, foam is easiest, will look fine once rendered with a joint. 2 5234 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors.
