Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building in Mapleton Grove, Kellyville North? 10Nov 28, 2013 4:50 am Jho_Silz Hi MG_17!! Welcome to ja'R'dine Ave! Seriously what is the go with the street name? I might call the council tomorrow to find out. Are you building single or double story? I've notice a few builds starting on the EBH side already and they are all singles. We are building a double with Clarendon. Every street sign in the Mapleton/White Gum estate has been wrong. Springbrook had Street instead of Blvd and Byfield had a Bayfield sign which has now be changed. Re: Building in Mapleton Grove, Kellyville North? 11Nov 29, 2013 9:04 pm Hi Jho_Silz, We are building a single story as well, the Jackson 28. I did see all the EB houses going up in White Gum Ridge, they are really fast! I noticed the street sign last time we were out there, looks like the council have had a shocker! You should have some good views as we are on the higher side of the area. Is this your first time building? Re: Building in Mapleton Grove, Kellyville North? 12Dec 09, 2013 7:28 pm I was going through the council DA website and saw that in the corner of mapleton and springbrook someone has applied to subdivide their lot and put 2 townhouses on it, not quite the low density residential the area is zoned for... http://apps.thehills.nsw.gov.au/DATrack ... key=777985 http://apps.thehills.nsw.gov.au/DATrack ... I kind of hope it doesn't, not taking away from investors but I am really hoping the majority of the homes are owner occupier, not investments. Where we are in New Rouse Hill is a combination of renters and owners, you can tell which are which and I feel a bit sorry for the owners living amongst the investments. Unfortunately a lot of rentals tend to look less cared for than by a proud owner. Not that renters are bad (we are renting ATM) but that they don't have the investment or reason (or permission) to improve the exterior of the house and many investors will only meet the bare minimum landscaping requirements and not add much aesthetic value to the estate. Yeh I totally agree with you there! From what I have read it looks like the majority are owner occupied in our area and stringers rd..which block have you purchased and have you decided who you're building with? Back to the block in question..based on the fact that it's low density do you think the council would approve it? I've tried finding it again and it's not there - can you find it? Do you think it was rejected? Re: Building in Mapleton Grove, Kellyville North? 17Dec 18, 2013 7:33 pm Hey guys We're lot 319, corner of Mapleton & Jadine..good to see fellow Mapleton-ers! We're patiently awaiting construction to start, relieved land was finally registered. Opposite us (the other corner block) there is possibly another subdivision (9-11 Mapleton) as we've ended with house number 13 :( We're building the Milano through McDonald Jones, any other MDJs here? Does anyone have any info regarding below: - Are there gas lines in this area? - Any soil tests had high salinity levels? - What type of slabs, M or H ? Thanks. I am on the Eden Brae side of the estate and I would assume there wont be too much difference in the soil. We have gas lines, high salinity and required an H class slab. Hope this helps.
