Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 16, 2013 3:42 am Hi everyone, my fiancé and I are about to go to contract on a block of land in Rochedale Estates. We just finished reading the body corporate scheme and had some questions for anyone that has built in the estate: - What is the community feel like in the estate? i.e. are the neighbours all friendly or do they just keep to themselves - What is the body corporate like to deal with? i.e. the covenant stating that if you have guests visiting you they have to park in the vistor centre and can't park in the street. This is an issue as we are looking in stage 2 which is a fair walk from the visitor centre. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Re: Rochedale Estates - Covenants and Community 2Nov 26, 2013 9:53 pm We are on McDermott Parade, just started building. Been to some BC meetings, neighbours seem nice so far. Lots of different ethnicities in the estate. As for the covenant, they have been reasonably liberal with the interpretations. I think guests just visiting is fine, guests staying a month may be an issue, but I cant see them policing it at all. Re: Rochedale Estates - Covenants and Community 3Nov 26, 2013 11:53 pm I too lived there for a while and the community seemed good to me. The place is a relaxing one. I think it will be good if you already have a connection out there with someone familiar. This helps a lot. See if you can pull it off there successfully.
