Browse Forums Building A New House Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 21Dec 09, 2013 10:51 pm Is Jindalee city of Wanneroo? If yes that's the same as us and our plans went through Council approval in 10 days from memory, it was very speedy. building with Redink Prestart 21/3/13 Slab down 12/6/13 Brickwork started 5/8/13 Brickwork finished 26/8/13 Roof frame 6/9/13 Colorbond 26/9/13 Grey float 11/10/13 white set 17/10/13 Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 22Dec 10, 2013 10:35 pm It sure is City of Wanneroo Cedes75 and that is fantastic news that it went quick for you thank you Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 23Dec 10, 2013 11:18 pm Good luck with prestart.. Plans look great. I remember looking at the lakehouse plan, really nice layout. We signed with RI in sept, so hopefully just behind you. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 24Dec 10, 2013 11:46 pm thanks so much ardie514 great to meet another Redink customer who is at the same stage as us I will follow your build so I can see your journey too Sorry I should actually correct my post we are actually building the 'Bayview' not the Lakehouse. They are very similar though and we looked at both numerous times so I always get confused hehe. The bayview has slightly bigger areas and the main bedroom is a bit different but otherwise pretty much the exact same layout as the lakehouse Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 25Dec 18, 2013 6:23 pm Similar to the Victoria display at piara waters? Seems familiar, though we looked at so many floor plans and displays it's hard to keep it all straight:-) thank god for pinterest to keep my scatteted ideas in some semblance of order. I think your plan looks great. Can't wait to see your pre start selections. We just signed off on our floor plan and front elevation so file just "went to the office" this week. How long until we get pre start info? Or is that not until after site assessment? Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee - Pre Start in 4 DAYS eek! 26Jan 03, 2014 9:17 pm Pre start is on Wednesday and we are super UNorgansied haha, we have lots of lists everywhere but no where near as organised as we were last time we built. Anyways as we have made most of our changes already we arent planning on going too crazy at pre start, we have a small budget and need to stick to it, here's a few little changes we are considering, would be so amazing if we knew all the pricing for these things just so we could prioritise before the day but I think we have a rough idea from looking around the forum *Extra power points *Sliding door on hallway to close off back part of the house *Considering waterfall edge on our kitchen bench only because it will only be one side with it being a wrap around kitchen so it might not be as much for just one side *Considering internal door upgrade again depending on cost *Upgrade of bathroom accessories *Considering going with the Formica Gloss on the cabinets and bathroom bench tops but this depends on price (has anyone upgraded to the gloss?) *External lights *Set of drawers in ensuite *Bigger Bath *Front window upgrade (to awning windows) my husband is very set on doing this however I fear it will cost a bomb to alter the windows Colour wise I think we are going to stick with what we like and know, neutral. So far we are looking at 'Charred Oak' for the cabinets throughout, 'Finesse Sand' for bench tops on bathrooms and laundry and then maybe bone white Essastone in the kitchen. We are clueless for the outside colours, last build we went dark roof and lighter render but this time we are wanting maybe the Surfmist colourbond roof but we have no idea what to do for the render of the portico etc, most of the front of our house is windows so there wont be alot of render but we still want to get it right. Im thinking maybe also going a silver lustre type colour for the window frames. So we still have a lot to think about before Wednesday but we have our Interior designer consultation on Tuesday so maybe that will give us a bit for clarity Ardie514 how is your paperwork coming along? Sorry I didnt reply to your message earlier, Im pretty sure we had our site assessment first and then once all that was done your building contract will be sent out to you and pre start department will be in contact with you, hopefully you will be hearing from them really soon, I think our builds will be going along the same timeframe will be nice to share it with you! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! 2014 is going to be fun! I seriously cant wait for my slab to be poured!!!!! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 27Jan 03, 2014 9:45 pm Our prices a year ago; - Awning $195 each (don't know if depends on size of window) - waterfall edges $1200 each side - gpo $65 - kitchen to gloss $720 - drawers to ensuite were too expensive so I didn't get a written quote - our bigger bath under $50 - bathroom accs will depend on brand / type - outside light $80 Goodluck! I am sure you will be all organised by Prestart! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 28Jan 03, 2014 11:32 pm Thanks so much for those prices asj25!! Gives us a great idea Much appreciated Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 30Jan 04, 2014 12:12 am Very exciting. I'm hoping to hear from them next RI and get started. Thanks for help with timeline. We had some of these things quoted along the way. 2 cavity slider doors internal were $3600! 2 pelmet sliders are $595 Internal door upgrade is $95 per door Can't wait to hear about pre start. Good luck Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 31Jan 04, 2014 1:06 am Were building with Redink too, not very far from yous guys and also have prestart on the 8th! How crazy is that! We don't feel very organised for prestart, never seem to get a minute to go through everything properly, lots of lists around! Guess we better get our act together We had our interior designer meeting before Xmas, she was fab and took a lot of stress out of the decisions. I'm a bit scared at how quick all the prices are going to add up so will need to prioritise although we have included quite a lot of extras already. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 32Jan 04, 2014 8:42 am Thanks so much Ardie that's great! Hoping you hear from RI next week and if not get onto them for sure! Hoping we will all have our new homes by Christmas 2014 Redinker wow that is so crazy you have pre start on the 8th too!! We might see you there hehe and I know what you mean trying to find spare time to sit down and do pre start stuff, we'll be doing a lot of it tomorrow haha! So where abouts are you building and why's type of plan have you picked? Have you been happy so far with the redink process? Looking forward to hearing about your journey Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 33Jan 04, 2014 10:14 am rosienchris doubt you will miss us we will be the one with the baby! I think between a baby and Xmas I haven't looked at the plans as much as I hoped! Were building in alkimos beach, were building the coral just changed a couple of rooms about. I can't fault Redink so far been great. We have priced quite a lot of extras so might be able to help with costs. We're sticking with warm neutral colours and staying away from cold greys Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 34Jan 04, 2014 12:15 pm Alkimos Beach is beautiful congratulations! we shall keep an eye out for you on Wednesday, how old is your little one? Our little guy is 8 months old and I'm lucky my mum is free that day so she is looking after him we are exactly the same though with not having had the time to sit down properly and look at our plans. My husband has had some time off work over Xmas so we did try sit down while little man was napping here and there. We are exactly the same with colours, love the warm neutrals so are definitely going in that direction. Have you done many upgrades? We are trying to really think about things that we can do in the later future as we will be in this house a long time and plan to do it up as we go in saying that I know some upgrades are definitely worth doing in the initial building stage as we may just never get them done or they will end up costing us more to change later. I'm so looking forward to having a slab down though really can't wait! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 35Jan 04, 2014 2:44 pm One thing that I wish I had of done was put in more conduits where the light switches are. We are doing ceiling fans now & it's going to be a PITA to do them as the rooms where we want them as the light & the fan switch will need to be on different points. Our RedInk Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64118&p=1004131#p1004131 ** Timeline Page 1 Moved In - 19.12.13 Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 36Jan 04, 2014 4:46 pm yap, getting the electrical plan right was the most time-consuming part of our planning for prestart. you need to think about how you're going to use the space, we relocated/added light switches and put conduits to most of them. A few things we missed: - upgrade the meter box cover to the lockable ones with viewing window - If you're going to add doors to area such as AV or laundry, check light switch locations... - check if garage entry to house has dead lock - Also, if you're going to have overhead cupboards to your fridge recess, check measurements (especially height!) of the fridge you're going to buy and make sure it will actually fit in there Not all of these will apply, but if they do, learn from my mistakes Good luck and look forward to hearing all about it! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 37Jan 04, 2014 10:01 pm Thanks Charlie & Janice thats excellent advice!! Janice I never even thought about the height of our fridge with the overhead cupboards eeek will check that right now What does everyone think of double showers? We have been thinking about it and Im just wondering if we should maybe just stick to a single shower. We actually have no room in our ensuite for a towel rail with a double shower and it just seems like a bit of a waste. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 38Jan 04, 2014 10:24 pm Yeah if you don't think you need it then I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's nice if the ensuite shower is a bit bigger but it doesn't need to be a double. I sort of regret not upgrading sinks. Esp as I have a similar vanity set up to you and the powder room sink is sort of open and on display. But redink really messed me around with the initial paperwork phase and the sink thing got changed a few times through their mistakes so in the end I said just give us standard ones. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 39Jan 05, 2014 12:04 am Our little one is 15 weeks, my mum is taking the older two as it's school holidays but as she does family daycare it would be too much for her to have the baby too. We have done quite a few upgrades already so hope there won't be too many more at prestart, but my list just keeps getting bigger! We included a few of the packages too the front and internal door package. The laundry trough and double shower and I think there was a stone one too. I'm beginning to worry about the depth of our fridge recess it doesn't seem big enough for the big new fridges but think it would be too much of a drama to fix it. Things we have added already are Undermount sink Servery window Larger alfresco Eaves Double doors on theatre room Double showers double vanity Extra door to ensuite Extra door to garage Raised ceiling in hallway Bigger baths Extend laundry cabinet and bench top Linen vinyl Things we still want to do Water tap for fridge Pot drawers Hobless showers Mitered edges for tiles Move laundry taps Sliding door to bedrooms Broom cupboard Raise bath with step in ensuite we noticed on the plans they put the step in but didn't raise it Manhole in garage Conduit to switches in bedrooms for fans Gloss in kitchen Upgrade toilets, sinks, showers. A couple of things I would like prices for are recessed sliding door from living area to alfresco Larger bathroom mirror Built in laundry hamper. I'm also a bit scared of the cost of our tiling in bathrooms as we picked a more expensive feature tile which also costs more to lay, hoping it's not mega exxy! As the interior designer didn't know. No wonder I can't sleep at night! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 40Jan 05, 2014 12:25 am We have the double size shower in our ensuite but don't have the two heads. I love it as you don't feel 'cramped' having a shower. We currently have our towels on hooks in the ensuite but we've been looking at a towel rail at the end of the shower, it doesn't get wet and then its there in the shower when needed, we've not been in long so still considering out options, mother hooks are the 3M ones so we can take them down Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 4553 Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 71805 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 |
