Browse Forums Building A New House Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 101Jan 29, 2014 12:19 am Well we had about 5-6 months paperwork and almost 9-10 months build time (from start of earth works April-? Feb/march).... So the 6&6 thing didn't hold true for us (though this is what we were told). Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 102Jan 29, 2014 12:20 am Absolutely cupcakes my mind is definitley stuck on the build! Im desperate to be in our own home again! I worry so much too, pumping money into someone elses mortgage by renting plus paying for the interest on the block! Its hard as well because we have tried to keep everything really simple hoping it might help the process along but it looks like it hasnt made a huge difference. booooooooooo its going to be a long few weeks! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 103Jan 29, 2014 12:27 am argh asj25 9-10 months for building thats insane, that must have been stressful at times! You are near the end though and I suppose at the end of the day there is an end to every build and we will all be in our houses eventually but yeah I dont like being promised something so we will sign up and then having this drag out, so we could be waiting longer than 6 months for paperwork and then who knows what happens with construction. I guess this is the deal with building, we must have been really lucky the first time we built our slab went down at the end of Jan and we picked up our keys 4th of June, so literally 4 and a half month build time. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 104Jan 29, 2014 12:43 am the bigger the house the longer it takes. I think we signed for the land in April 2013 and we sign up for the house at the same time we got the contracts for the plan in late September (we did our bank stuff just before the contract for the house ran out (they lock in the price of the house for 3 months), we got the final plans on 3 of dec and did prestart on the 5 of dec. made changes to the kitchen and floor tiles in jan, got back the final final plans 17th of jan, plans ready for council, made more changes on the 23rd of jan, 25 jan got building permit from council, made more changes again, 26th jan now waiting to sign for the changes, for the first payment and to pay for prestart that's our time line, I was hoping at the start of all this to be moving in in march or April!!! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 106Jan 29, 2014 1:24 am Once it starts you forget about all the time you had to wait . every build is differnt.now that im at my stage i wont it to slow down i have 2 progress payments in 2 months and their killing me. im always thinking of my build .and there things on my plan that i pick up now. thank god redink have been good with me . They are there to answer all your questions.even if they are dumb.Work with them and you will go far. hopefully you have a good ss who does one stage after another.at the end of this you will be living in a lovely home that is yours with your family and maybe thinking whens the next time you build lol Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 107Jan 29, 2014 1:31 am Thanks Melsie! You are very right! We will get there, this is just a little hurdle! And I definitely don't want to be that grumpy client who calls them complaining all the time so will try and work with them and appreciate the process Hehe but I think I can safely say this is the last time we will build! Twice is enough for me we met our 'neighbours to be' a few months back and they are on their 8th build!!!!!! Talk about brave they must have amazing patience Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 110Feb 06, 2014 9:47 pm Hi Everyone! Our plans have been submitted to council today So now we wait for builders permit but Im just glad all the paperwork stuff is out the way, so we were told 2 weeks for council to approve but apparenty the City of Wanneroo are really behind so there could be a delay, its up to us apparently to chase them up. So Im hoping by the end of the month we will have builders permit and then maybe siteworks/slab next month! Fingers crossed!! Hope everything is going well with you Redinker and everyone else too Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 111Feb 07, 2014 1:27 am Congrats .i know it feels like forever but 2 weeks will fly past and while you wait you can look at everyone else's build and get more ideas and then ring redink like I did and keep adding things lol Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 112Feb 07, 2014 1:28 am Congrats .i know it feels like forever but 2 weeks will fly past and while you wait you can look at everyone else's build and get more ideas and then ring redink like I did and keep adding things lol Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 113Feb 07, 2014 4:47 pm haha thanks Melsie! I am still waiting for final plans to come through. Good luck with the build! Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Jindalee 118Feb 12, 2014 6:05 pm Thanks pradiprn :) The waiting part sucks!!! Im so impatient haha! But we called the council and they say usually 2 weeks to approve plans so we are hoping for a builders permit on thursday next week!! Then we will need to wait to be scheduled for earthworks and from what I have read there can be quite a wait there too All good, we are just hanging out for that slab!! Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 2858 Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21? Our bank requires us to provide one but we are missing 4 building certificates from our first… 3 57211 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 2780 |
