Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and are enjoying the holidays and beautiful weather A new year is always exciting when you are building because usually it means within that year you are likely to get keys! Yay! So far living in our new home has been amazing, we've done quite a bit but also have so much to do still! Kresta have installed our blinds however our sheers are getting installed next week and also a few fix ups they need to make, without our sheers our roller blinds are looking a bit bland so really looking forward to them being finished off! Our front garden is complete thanks to our landscaping package through the developer, no more sand out the front and we are really happy with having some green to look at the garden we are hoping to add to over the years and alter but for now it is perfect to cover up that gross sand! We are pretty much settled inside now, have a few more bits and pieces to get and a few more pictures to put up but it's really a home now Our dishwasher recess has been fixed and we now have a lovely standard size dishwasher which is very exciting, we had to have a few different trades come out to fix it, the cabinet maker came first to move around some of the cabinets and break up our tiles and then the tiler came to repair the tiles redink were fantastic at getting this sorted for us and we are really happy to be able to fill the dishwasher space now Our back garden is still a work in progress, there's so much to do out there, at the moment we are getting retic sorted then we are hoping to build a limestone garden bed wall and then finish off with grass and oh the shed too of course hoping to have that sorted in the next few weeks then sand will really be a thing of the past Hope everyone else's builds are flying along, not long until all trades are back on deck and lots of you will be booking in to collect keys I've attached a few photos if anyone is interested. Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Key Handover 3rd Oct!!! 1015Jan 02, 2015 12:51 am Happy new year rosie! House is looking great and I'm so happy that you're all settled in. Hope you've been feeling well. Love seeing pics so keep em coming:) Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Key Handover 3rd Oct!!! 1017Mar 08, 2015 6:00 am Hi Rosie - I've missed so much - I don't think I've congratulated you yet? Your house looks amazing and i hope your morning sickness is now a thing of the past. I don't have kids so can't relate, but when I feel sick because of unintended gluten consumed (I'm a coeliac) then I find pure peppermint tea helps a little bit! I'm so happy they've fixed your dishwasher recess - if you don't have space for a normal size the slimline is fine, but a normal one is so much better! Hope you'll pop in and show us some pics - and I hope you and your family are all healthy and doing well x Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Key Handover 3rd Oct!!! 1018Mar 08, 2015 9:24 am Hi Melsie and MalSannie Thank you both so much for checking in! It's been such a crazy few months I've been so slack updating my thread sorry Firstly thanks so much pregnancy is going very well, I'm 26 weeks now so only 14 to go and my belly is growing like crazy! Morning sickness is all gone (yay) and according to all my scans baby is looking very healthy! We resisted the urge to find out the sex so nice big surprise for us on 'D' Day As for our house we really really have done so much and are so happy with the progress so far. Front yard was completed by developer and backyard we didn't think we would get to for a long time but after some hard work we've poured a concrete slab ourselves using the services great from 'concrete taxi' for our shed, currently putting shed together today, we've leveled our yard and rolled out lots of lovely sir walter grass to cover the sand. The grass has taken off out the back it's beautiful green and soft and Chris says easy as pie to mow. All we need to finish is our garden bed around the perimeter of the garden against the fence but we are currently planning for a few big trees to block out our neighbours as their balcony sits quite high. Inside I can say is pretty much complete apart from our lighting, our sheers are up on and we have all the furniture we need (apart from a few more things for our one lounge) Lighting was never a priority for us as my brother is a electrician and will help us out without when we know what we want and have the money too, it's not something that really bothers me at the moment but I know when we get those downlights in and some feature lighting our house will be really complete then So apart from being crazy busy with the backyard we really have been loving our new house, really get that feeling of 'ahhhhh this is home' our little man has settled right in and we can't wait to bring our new baby home here. Our neighbours are lovely, we love being so close to the beach every night we've slept with our window open and can hear the ocean and we just feel like we are on holiday every day! Amazing! This has been the best decision of our life to sell our old place and rent/build, it was hard work but now we are here it's just made us realise how worth it it was! Now our new goal goal is to pay off this mortgage as fast as we can hehe!! Hope you guys are both well I'm going to pop over to your threads shortly to have a looky at how your places are going xxxx Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Key Handover 3rd Oct!!! 1019Mar 08, 2015 9:40 am You sound so happy .that pregnancy is going so slow lol .all I wake up to is to screaming kids .he he . Partner outside pulling out the weeds to get ready to start our backyard . I cant believe you poured your own concrete . Its scary having such a big loan to pay off . We will have to pay over 1m if we take the full 30 years to pay .omg I will be 65 how crazy is that .lol. Keep as updated on bubs . Oh and the house of course . Xxx Re: REDINK Build - NOR - Key Handover 3rd Oct!!! 1020Apr 13, 2015 3:17 am Rosie you must think I'm incredibly rude - I honestly didn't see this Saw your post on Kelly's thread and wondered whether you'd updated yours! I'm so glad to hear you're doing well and settling in well - and that you're no longer experiencing the morning sickness. Not long to go now is it? And you're probably glad it is getting a bit cooler! Your plan to pay of the mortgage as soon as you can is the best thing you can do for yourselves. Interest makes up such a huge part of what you pay off over the longer run! I really hope the rest of your waiting for bambino 2 goes smoothly x Your house should come in "as new" condition. It should be clean, and without stains 1 4553 Can you give advice on how to get missing certificates needed for a form 21?
