Is it worth putting mini downlights in these or would the be fine without? Re: Duke's Double - Getting Laid 84Jun 19, 2014 12:17 pm As long as there is lighting in the corridor, I think it would be fine without. But I think it would be nicer to have the feature lighting if you can. Duke's Double - Getting Laid 85Jun 23, 2014 10:12 pm Decided against lighting the niches, it would require boxing out the top to fit the light which would make them wider than tall. I think that would look a bit odd. Anyway, here they are! Re: Duke's Double - Getting Laid 88Jun 23, 2014 11:43 pm Looks great! They should be able to get a good run at it this week with the weather on your side! House faces east though. Re: Duke's Double - Getting Laid 92Jul 01, 2014 12:09 am I think the ground floor is now pretty much done, maybe a day left of odds and sods to do. Really happy with how it is all feeling at the moment, it's always a worry when you're building something that doesn't have a display home to give you the reality rather than just plans on paper. Re: Duke's Double - Getting Laid 94Jul 02, 2014 12:11 am Pretty sure that ground floor bricks are finished as the cement mixer and wheel barrows etc have gone. They've done a great job of cleaning up after themselves with all rubbish pit in piles and the house given a quick sweep overall I'm very happy with progress and quality of brickwork, only 2 weeks and 2 days to do the whole floor! Had a progress update from the builder saying that the formwork for the suspended slab and the electrical & plumbing pre-lay should be done in the next fortnight weather permitting and then concrete after that. Nothing much has happened since brickies left, apart from a site clean and collection of the platforms the bricklayers stand on to build the tops of the walls. Was hoping scaffold would go up this week so I can sneak up and check out what our view may be.
