Andy - i agree that the 4 cupboards look better but we really need to extend the fridge space as otherwise our fridge won't fit I was actually hoping they could take the length off the other wall on the side of the fridge as it is thicker than a normal wall - I remember when I was going to sign with M they used this option I'm also hoping just to ask for 2 large cupboards rather than the 3 if I have to take the space from there...we will see Thanks M & M - wow $600 for some overheads - gee I wish I got the old promotion where it was included!! Hmm I reallly like the idea and look of the overheads especially with kids...may have to try and reduce costs elsewhere....I like your ideas for the space under the bench - it seem ridiculous that PD couldn't supply an extra cupboard there. Thanks again Re: Cremorne Question 22May 14, 2008 12:55 pm Hi Bel,
Quote: I was also wondering if there is a reason for the space below the laundry shelf and if not is it possible to get a cupboard put there..did anyone get a quote for this....I noticed most people are leaving the space below empty - what do you plan to use it for... We filled in the space below the laundry bench and made it into a cupboard so it will have 2 doors at 350mm and 1 door at 300mm. I could not see any use for it to being a void. We also added overheads and a bench to the other corner next to the door entry (if that makes sense) see below... Thanks for that information and also the picture it helped to make it all come together. I think we will be doing the same - I have quotes of approx $450 for the cupboard in lieu of space and $750 for overheads. Book on its way, should get it tomorrow. Poor salesman was a bit dissapointed when after asking such detailed questions, he found out it was for a friend and not me!! Ans all the way over in Newport!! Just to clarify: Doors leading out to alfresco from dining room in Mernda are triple stackers and an upgrade cost of $1800.00 approx. Doors leading out to alfresco from rumpus are standard sliding doors that meet in the middle to give a wide opening. Ok other tip I found was in the pantry, they had two pot drawers on the 'dead' wall that went in under the staircase, and would provide lots of storage!! Paula Re: Cremorne Question 25May 14, 2008 4:34 pm Paula you are a gem
Honestly I can' thank you enough - what an awesome person to do that for me I was thinking the stackers might be around that cost...I think the standard sliding doors are actually pretty nice so unless the lovely people at PD are willing to let me swap the bifolds for the stackers (highly doubt it) then we will be going for the standard slider. I have seen those pot drawers before - they are such a good idea...after I have my tupperware party next week I'm sure I will find plenty of stuff to fill them with Thank-you again Paula, I look forward to getting the book!! My karma ran over your dogma Re: Cremorne Question 28May 14, 2008 10:33 pm Hi Guys,
I asked Rod at Mernda on Sunday if you could swap the bi-folds for a stacker and he said no As usual if you don't want promo you get STANDARD!!!! T&L, love your laundry! We've moved the laundry tub to the corner of room on the external wall and paid for an extension to the extended bench top that was in promo to run to opposite wall (next to powder room). We have a front loader so it will sit under the bench and taps will be relocated sit under bench top. We're not having overhead cupboards, we didn't see the need for them as I don't keep alot of stuff in my laundry. I'd like to put up a fold out clothes line on the opposite wall for winter time. Hose for Vac will go behind the door on a thingy from Howards Storage, as will the ironing board and mop. That'll be all that will live in the laundry. Pretty basic huh!? As for that crappy little bit of space on the standard plan.....Ikea may have something that will fit in there nicely. Toni Re: Cremorne Question 29May 14, 2008 10:58 pm Stackers are definitely an upgrade - we paid for them, so I'm sure I'm right. Standard is the normal two sliders which open in the opposite direction to each other - we have the standard in the theatre room, and stackers opening onto the dining area.
Pictures are in the blog! Cheers Re: Cremorne Question 30May 15, 2008 9:51 am Thanks for your responses everyone
I really like the stackers but don't think we can justify another big cost to the bill - I'm sure I'll be fine with the standard slider for now Pics look great Perry! We had what i thought was a certainty until yesterday when I read Snsitr's post about side setbacks and PD's unwillingness to build to the boundary. The block we are looking at is 15.25m wide, I have emailed PD to ask what they think!
