Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 341Jun 13, 2014 9:36 am we tiled the hallways. We are having the dark tiles from HGWA. our other choice was over $5,000 to upgrade too. In the end the budget said "No" Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 342Jun 13, 2014 10:11 am We bucked the trend! We left the carpet in the activity and hallways to the minor bedrooms etc. We've always tiled those spaces and this time around thought we'd try something different. If we hate it or it looks crappy from wear and tear we will floor board it down the track. Although, here's a funny one for you ... We have a teeny tiny little entrance thing to the master bedroom, off the dining space ... We asked for that to be tiled, they charged us $200 to do it. It would have looked stupid if we had left it as carpet and we still can't work out why it was ever carpet in the first place! Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 343Jun 30, 2014 8:05 pm does anyone know the time frame from lock up to handover??? I would love to know?? I think we are to be at lock up in two weeks and I would like to know if HGWA will be finished in October or since they are building our house so fast could I hope to have keys in September?? hoping!!!!! xoxo Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 344Jun 30, 2014 8:30 pm Well ... speaking from experience .... gosh who am I kidding?!! I wouldn't have a clue, but maybe have a look at John + Ash's thread ... they seem to be the closest to handover out of all of us .... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67385#p1194009 Build's going nice and quick for you Cupcakes, wont be too much longer! Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 345Jun 30, 2014 9:05 pm Hi all. Hoping you can help me out... Our Prestart is booked in for July 16 and we had an email saying that they have received developer approval and are now chasing up any outstanding approvals from the council... I thought you couldn't have council approval until colours have been chosen? One other, roughly how long did you wait from Prestart to atleast site works or slab down? Thank you. Cupcakes Goodluck with your new home Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 346Jun 30, 2014 9:17 pm No idea on the council approval thing but we went to Prestart on the 7th April and we still have no progress. We were supposed to start on the 20th June but have had a few hiccups and now due to start again on Thursday. But in saying that we didn't have our building permit before Prestart either so yours might be a bit quicker. Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 347Jun 30, 2014 9:39 pm We did prestart April 22, building approval from council June 6. Looking to go to site in the next fortnight or so (apparently!). I think you could safely say you will go to site about 3 months after prestart is signed off. As for approvals, yeah I would have thought if the developers have to approve everything then they cant sign off. However, maybe they are getting everything else signed off ready and that will be the last thing to be organised. Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 348Jun 30, 2014 9:56 pm I hope it won't take so long... But presuming site works won't start until October Good luck to you both Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 349Jun 30, 2014 9:58 pm Build times are so hard to predict - ours have all been so wildly different. Our very first was a dream build of 8 months from sign up to pci (with under 4 months construction time frame). We had the most awesome supervisor - 13 years on with a different building company and lucky us we have the same guy this time who would of guessed. On the other hand our second build with the same company took nearly 2 years - different supervisor though. You just can never tell! We had one build supervisor who was amazing ... titles issued in Oct, we had roof on Christmas Eve, moved in over Easter. It can be done, but it comes down to that supervisor!! Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 353Jun 30, 2014 11:11 pm Ok we have Steve. I actually find it a bit weird that we can't have their phone number or I thought we would have at least met them before the build started. I mean they are in charge of a nearly $300,000 build. I would like to know who I'm actually dealing with. Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 354Jun 30, 2014 11:23 pm 2-cupcakes-pls Clinton he does the Baldivis area Hi 2 Cupcakes. How is Clinton? Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 358Jul 04, 2014 10:12 am Hey does anyone know if the LED lights supplied by HGWA hard wired or plugged in? Toni's thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71645 Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 359Aug 17, 2015 1:58 pm Hi All, A few months back we received an advise from HGWA and Ford & Doonan regarding an upgrade to the ducted reverse cycle aircon that is included in our package. It was to replace the unit from Samsung to Panasonic. But last week when we dropped by the house and looked at the unit they installed, it was a Samsung. We haven't receive though of an advise that they were switching back to Samsung. Has anyone in here building with HGWA been into a similar situation? Regards to all.
