See, there you go. We won't have an outdoor kitchen, as the kitchen is right next to the back sliding doors to the alfresco. My island bench will be my servery. Have you put plumbing etc in your plans?? Had a look at the neighbours build yesterday and he has done that, looks like he is going to have an amazing setup. Lucky duck! What are you putting in your outdoor kitchen? dnalkoorb Do you really want to be hidden away in a back-room when cooking? Do you really want to run forth and back between two rooms when preparing food? Would it not be more efficient to have everything in one place. Yup I do! It'll be my little sanctuary away from the family kitchen, no toasters, kettles and kids lunch boxes in my way - just my cookbooks and my kitchen aid and lots of yummy baked treats! Reminds me though - must put a power point in one of the overhead shelves for a radio. Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 294Jun 08, 2014 1:20 pm Our outdoor area is what im most excited about:) We have included plumbing provisions for a sink. We are also having a long splashback window since I really wanted one in the house but design dictated that we couldnt have one. At this stage we are having a heatly drop in bbq, two-door glass husky bar fridge, am trying to find an undermount bbq rangehood rated for indoor use since the alfresco will hopefully be enclosed with bifolds so hubby can bbq in the middle of winter. Hubby has also mentioned an underbench oven but im not sure since we have two inside three ovens seems like complete overkill - opinions welcome on this please. I have kitchen envy .... I use our BBQ all the time but an outside kitchen is something I've never wanted. Doesn't stop me from admiring tho. On the oven, maybe look at a wood fire oven or something similar, something you don't have inside. We scored a Kent wood fire second hand, in perfect nick and we are installing it in our alfresco to make it like a lounge room for winter days .... Maybe look at something like that if you can't agree on an oven. I have an anterior motive for the outdoor kitchen as it definitely wasnt one of my must haves but have figured the more he cooks in "his" kitchen the less I have to use "my" kitchen hehe Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 297Jun 08, 2014 2:53 pm dnalkoorb #asha don't worry if you do not have a sullery. IMHO they are just an unpractical fashion gimmick. It makes me laugh when I read that people have two dishwashers because they could not decide if it should be in the kitchen or scullery. How uneconomical and inefficient. A kitchen is a central point for the family and when entertaining. Do you really want to be hidden away in a back-room when cooking? Do you really want to run forth and back between two rooms when preparing food? Would it not be more efficient to have everything in one place. I would like to hear opinions from people who actually have a scullery if they would build one again and how they are using it. LOL you laughing at me? i am hand washing four times a day! if not more. if i had two dishwasher it will save me time, money and water! our scullery or larder is very open within the kitchen. we have tried the open plan kitchens and it didn't work for us. there are no doors on our scullery our fridge is in a Great location for the kitchen and the larder. everything is in one place We are getting all our kitchen stuff for peanuts! you would love this we are getting three OVENS !!! hubby had to talk me out of getting the fourth oven so we are going to get a warming drawer. Silly i know, but that's me to a T Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 298Jun 08, 2014 3:00 pm 2-cupcakes-pls dnalkoorb #asha don't worry if you do not have a sullery. If you have the means and need to have three oves, two dishwashers and more, good on you. Besides, you will need two dishwashers to keep up with the dishes from three ovens I say it again ... The best thing about building is you get everything YOU want! Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 299Jun 08, 2014 3:14 pm I say it again ... The best thing about building is you get everything YOU want! I concur, there's been one numpty that keeps popping on different HGWA threads and evrytime I throw a question back at them, no reply, apparantly thay've had a nightmare build but don't provide pics etc when asked. Makes me mad but the trick is not to let them know. My philosophy, Just coz YOU don't like someone elses choice, doesn't mean you have to let the whole world know Nothing wrong in giving advice etc but otherwise shut the F*%k up On another note, we have found something we def don't like The kitchen benchtop is now in and at the time, we couldn't afford the waterfall edges, now we've seen it, we soooooo wish we had pushed our budget We're gonna see if we can get it done after handover, maybe a cash job We are looking to do a KDR with fairhaven homes, Have seen plenty of good reviews about them pre construction and plenty of negative reviews about them during contruction… 0 18046 Hi starting the process of looking around for Dual Occ builders.
