Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 2Nov 04, 2013 3:59 pm Congrats! The Sierra/Simonds club is ever growing! Looking forward to seeing your build Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 3Nov 05, 2013 9:44 am Congrats mjmelb, that is awesome news! Can't believe the land took so long to title. Did they say what the delay was?? Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 4Nov 07, 2013 9:33 am We finally settled yesterday. It was a drama and a half and came down to the wire but it finally happened. Now we wait for the construction to begin, its scheduled for next week. Jasdan, their were numerous delays. For some reason the developers would tell us when it would be ready, however they hadn't even started works on the land and since we had no idea about how it worked we just believed them. I honestly think they didn't develop the land because they hadn't sold enough. Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 5Nov 07, 2013 12:06 pm We checked out land yesterday that we are going to put our deposit on today to build the Sierra by Simonds. I will be following your thread and hope that I can start my own in the coming months. Congratulations. You have been very patient and exciting times to come! Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 6Nov 12, 2013 7:19 am Where are you buying Schmonette? Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 7Nov 14, 2013 7:25 am We are in Qld and have bought a block at Hillcrest. It's about 1/2 hour in good traffic from Brisbane city. It's a 561 square meter block. My husband and I have been addicted to Pinterest since we started looking at houses. It'll be a big year next year, Baby #2 due Feb and looking to start building April to June (ish) - fingers crossed. Would love to have Christmas 2014 in our new place. Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 8Nov 18, 2013 7:12 am We've got a Temporary Fence and Porta-loo! Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 9Nov 29, 2013 7:32 am We've now been waiting 2 weeks for site start and nothing. We had a hiccup in regards to something that was offered when we first approached Simonds however this shouldn't have held up site start. Sick of waiting, just want to see something exciting happen and see a house start to appear. Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - We have a Slab 10Dec 16, 2013 9:05 am We have a slab, it was poured on Saturday, 14th December! Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 11Dec 16, 2013 9:49 am Hooray!!!! Slab party at your place!! Seriously, though, that must be a relief after all your waiting. So good that they got in before Christmas! Looking forward to more pics to come! Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 12Dec 16, 2013 11:38 am How exciting!!! That's great news, you guys must be thrilled! Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - We have a slab 13Dec 16, 2013 11:54 am Yeah, we're really happy, it just means that stuff is happening and giving us hope for next year! Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - The countdown begins 14Dec 19, 2013 12:31 pm Too excited, I checked the 'My Simonds' website today and it appears that our frame has been completed, I can't wait to see it! We'll be checking it out on Saturday. From then, we'll have to wait until mid January before work commences again however I'm sure it will fly. I mean, in less than a week we have a slab and frame. While I'm here, does anyone know how I change the heading of this topic? Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - We have a frame 16Dec 21, 2013 3:50 pm We went out this morning and were totally surprised, not only was the frame up but the windows & doors were in and bricks were delivered. http://s918.photobucket.com/user/mjmelb ... state=copy Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - We have a frame 17Dec 28, 2013 8:55 pm We went to check out our house on our drive home from the airport and we now have bricks on about 1/4 of the house. I'm shocked anyone has been working this week. This build is now flying!!!! Photos to come soon. Re: Simonds Sierra Summerhill - We have some bricks 18Dec 29, 2013 11:34 am Here's some photos of the bricks, they're Austral Red Gum, I'm happy with the colour, its not too bright. However I'm not so happy with the brick work, some of the mortar doesn't look the same as the rest. Front bedroom: Re: Simonds Sierra - We have some bricks 19Dec 29, 2013 1:27 pm Maybe some of the mortar was still wet when you had a look. It takes a while for it to dry but when it does I'm sure it will look more consistent. Re: Simonds Sierra - We have some bricks 20Dec 29, 2013 4:34 pm Thats what I'm thinking too Lucinda. It was just weird that it wasn't the top bricks. Fingers crossed next time we see the walls each row blends in. Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
