Re: Welcome to Paradise - Week 24 - Well blow me down!! 744Dec 05, 2014 12:47 am I'm glad the invisible serum wore off on those pavers, could have hurt someone walking through the garage there! Looking good, and a PCI date - fantastic news. Yippee!! Re: Welcome to Paradise - Week 24 - Walls sealed 745Dec 05, 2014 2:58 pm Thanks everyone, it really does feel like it is starting to come together. I've been looking at the budget and everything that we need to do after handover I think I might be needing to stand on the corner of my block to raise some extra funds from somewhere I guess even some of the 'need' items like a new lounge suite (seeing as I've already sold the other one and we are currently sitting on the floor) are going to have to wait a few months... hahah perhaps I shouldn't have been too hasty. Some things like landscaping that people like to leave to later I want to get done first... I'm so worried about all the sand ruining my nice wooden floors that it just can't wait. I'd rather not have a couch for a while than sand coming into the house the whole time... priorities I guess Ag, but there is no rush, we will get it all finished eventually... I will just be pleased to be in my own home!! Our List

Suffice to say we are not buying any furniture for a while! The only way I was even able to finish the list above is because I borrowed more than the cost of my build. I still haven't figure out how I'm supposed to afford a wedding next year! Re: Welcome to Paradise - Week 24 - Well blow me down!! 747Dec 05, 2014 3:14 pm yeah it's crazy isn't it. That's why we decided to get most of the stuff we could have done after handover included in the building contract. Our must have's now are letterbox, clothesline, backyard paving & lawn & side gate. Solar panels, window tinting, new office furniture, replacing the venetian blinds (yes already planning that!) are all at least a year down the track now. Suffice to say I've also stopped looking at artwork and throw cushions! I think I might have to join you on the corner burns! Seriously this after handover stuff really isn't all its cracked up to be. But I'm with you, the landscaping has to get done first! I hate sand!!! Re: Welcome to Paradise - Week 24 - Well blow me down!! 753Dec 05, 2014 9:45 pm Wow BFT. Im only across the road and I haven't had time to look at what's going in at yours. It all looks so fantastic. We had a list of after handover things to do when we had the funds from the other house we sold. But NAB Bank had other ideas and put the money into our rental mortgage and are now refusing to give it back. They have left me with $27k of bills for things we ordered and payed deposits for and only 7k to pay it all. Not quite sure what we are going to do. Still got $2000k left to pay on the pool but now it's in and filling up with water I can't see them coming back to take it out.
