Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - CONTRACTS SO MAD!! 21Mar 03, 2014 4:46 pm We were given a contract before signing as an example to read through and were told upfront that it was our builder's standard contract and they would not be changing it. In our case it didn't really matter that much, but I think it's a very rare occurrence where a builder is willing to accommodate these things. Best to focus your attention on getting ready for pre start. Have you made any decisions yet? Prestart is where we had the most fun! We've got our meeting with Intelligent Homes booked for 19 March We've got our meeting with the Interior Designer booked for 21 March And today I got word that our finance has been approved. Its all starting to come together, hopefully just a little more waiting and then we'll be in full swing! My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - FINANCE APPROVED 26Mar 20, 2014 9:36 am I had our meeting with Intelligent Homes yesterday. Everything is all sorted now with regards to the tv points, data points etc. I also got suckered into speakers in the ceiling for the alfresco area... we will see if that stays in the quote or if we will chuck it out depending on the costs. Some of the talk went right over my head, but as long as the TV works and I can get internet though the tv and I have enough data points elsewhere then all the mumbo jumbo about boxes and cables is for them to understand not me Next meeting for the house is tomorrow with the interior designer to finalise colours... whoo hoo!! This one I will understand... I hope My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - ONE MEETING DOWN 27Mar 21, 2014 9:30 pm We had our colour consult this afternoon and made our final colour selections. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - COLOUR SELECTIONS 33Mar 28, 2014 10:30 pm Today was prestart. We were there for aaaggges!! We started at 9am and we finished at 2:30. My brain was finished at the end of it. We made several changes to the kitchens and bathroom layouts Added way more lights and plug points. Now we wait for costings. We didn't upgrade anything. In fact we downgraded some things. I think the major cost that will come in is the waterfall ends to the kitchen but these are essential. We even came in lower on the tile costings than expected so I was well chuffed with that. All in all a good day. OH is annoyed about the 180 day price increase statement because the 180 days is looming and not due to any fault of ours. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - COLOUR SELECTIONS 34Mar 28, 2014 11:55 pm Glad pre start went well Don't be surprised to get a bit of a shock at some of the prices that come back! I had to wear the 180 price increase due to delayed titles. I know exactly what you mean. It was very frustrating. But I guess what I saved over that extra period offset what I had to pay. So I suppose I can call it even? Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - PRESTART DONE 36Apr 10, 2014 9:18 am Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since prestart and we are still waiting for pricing!!! I have to say this is the first time that I've really felt frustrated with the slowness of this whole process. I am so sick and tired of waiting for things to happen so we can move onto the next stage. I know we still have a long way to go, with plenty of frustrating waiting in between, but I am reaching the end of my patience with the admin side of things and just want some action on the block now!! AARGGHH!! So annoyed and irritated and frustrated right now! My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Our New Home - Aveling - Perth NOR - FRUSTRATED 37Apr 11, 2014 9:43 am After my rant yesterday morning the gods must have heard me and my prestart costings arrived in the afternoon Most of it I am happy with, it all came in on budget so that is ok. The worst cost is the waterfall ends which is sitting at $2900!! We are now deciding how much we need these. The other place we spent plenty of money was the electrical, but all of these additional plugs, light switches and two ways are necessary so that cost will stay. Now I just really need to work on hubby to get him to agree to the waterfall ends!!
