Your slab went down end of June, most builders claim about a 7 month build.. Really I think they look at 6 but give a lead time of 6.5-7. Your 4 months into the build.. They have gone pretty far! You have to try forget purchasing the land a year ago because you weren't building then. It's a bit unrealistic to think they should do any quicker than they are.... As much as everyone would like to!! Haha. Re: Welcome to Paradise - Week 17 - TIRED OF IT 433Oct 10, 2014 10:18 am Dewish I wouldn't get down about it! You are right, I have had it easy compared to some and I don't look at the purchasing the land at all - I only look at from when we signed up and at that time they said 12 months - and that takes us to now, I was more than happy to give them a few months leeway and say ok just before Christmas, but its seems that is not to be. I'm not moaning really about our build time, things have gone fantastically from slab down till now. However I am still entitled to get annoyed and frustrated and down about it all taking a lot longer than orginally expected. We don't look at when we purchased the land, more that 12 months ago we walked to our builder, handed over the block and said build us a house. We too thought Christmas optimistically, January even February at a stretch. All based on what was told to us by the builder and judging by other who were building at that time. You are more than within your rights to be cranky. We can be cranky together. But only for a little while because then it gets boring and I will eat chocolate and that is never a good thing. Re: Welcome to Paradise - Week 17 - TIRED OF IT 440Oct 10, 2014 1:03 pm PanRaptor tmwoburn Even today sales reps are still quoting impossible building timeframes to new customers!!! Perhaps I'll make it my mission to skulk around display homes and warn people. Someone has to do it! It's so unfair to prey on ignorant first home builders. I'm sorry to hear you had a dud week BFT. I know it's not super helpful to hear this, but for the sake of your sanity, just cast this week aside and hope the next one will be better. OMG in moments of temporary insanity when going back through the display home to check design ideas Ive seen potential customers and I have felt like screaming "Dont build are you mad"!! haha Of course I didn't though Tradie may sit at home but will need to get house plastered as well or will you sit it out? 6 9972 Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1. optional, you can but normally just use the earth from the main switch board 2. should be enough but the distance determines voltage drop - sparky should work it… 1 28817 I have a really long hallway which is 1100mm W x 11500mm L I would appreciate if anyone can give suggestions to light it up with Linear LED lights that goes from wall to… 0 8820 |
