Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 28, 2013 4:42 pm I need some suggestions please. We have had our Colour appt and tender is early December. It seems that our assigned admin person is incredibly unhelpful and it's already putting a dampener on our experience. We've asked to put in our own central heating and have been told NO because of it needing to be in for the Occupancy permit. No upgrades have been provided as a solution. Secondly, I queried if we could go to the Colour place in the next week to choose tiles for around the bath as only tiling for the floor and shower had been selected - which is the same tile. The response I got was 'you've chosen x tile to go around the bath' (meaning the same one for the floor and shower). We don't want th same tile around everything. No reply of 'you've chosen x but if you want to change' etc. My understanding is we CAN change our mind about things before tender and given tender is 5 weeks away it's not like we are doing it the week before. Any suggestions? I'm trying to be nice at the moment but having to constantly email back with a solution is getting tiresome. Has anyone else dealt with issues like these in the prelim stages? Thanks Re: Help- what to do with an unhelpful Admin person 2Oct 28, 2013 5:14 pm Sounds like they are trying to bluff you, and need to be told! You don't need heating for an occupancy permit. I felt as much. I've since contacted the council to confirm CH is not required and emailed the admin advising same. They've now taken the CH out of the quote. Win! Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7925 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12462 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7143 |
