Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 27, 2014 10:13 am Hi all... I have just had my colour selection, but left feeling a little uncertain (I had to take my 1 year old with me because the baby sitter fell through, so my focus wasn't 100%). I want a warm grey colour scheme, without it looking too brown. I have selected a white stone bench (Essa Stone in New Crystal Salt), with white overhead cupboards and Formica Asphalt base cupboards for the kitchen. Has anyone used the Asphalt before, and can share some pics? Did you find it looked brown? I had Deep Anthracite in the bathrooms of my previous home and liked that colour, but chose differently so it wasn't too much the same - now wondering if I should've gone with what I know. In the bathroom I have kept the benchtop the same, but chosen Laminex New Graphite for the base cupboards - I am worried about the clash of the speckled stone and the texture in this laminex - can anyone share pictures or experiences of using the New Graphite? I ended up choosing Haymes NG13 Spatial for the walls, but I am worried it might look a bit brown - has anyone used this colour, or used a nice warm grey in the Haymes range you can recommend? The colour consultant recommended W11 Whitewash (Haymes) for the ceiling and architraves, but I am worried it looks quite off-white and I want it to look crisp and fresh - so if anyone has any comments to help, please post. Externally, I chose Colorbond Dune for the fascia and rendered front pillars - can people comment on this colour? I find I am unable to determine if its more brown or grey. As it is external I don't mind too much if its a bit more brown, but going with charcoal roof tiles and monument guttering, windows and front door, so "grey-er" would be better. I have chosen Selkirk Red Rebellion bricks also, so if people have photo's to share of them, that would also be great! I am hoping to be able to get some pictures to help me feel more confident in my choices, or decide to change them, so if anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks in advance! http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag5 ... alt001.jpg Re: Colour Help Please! 2Jun 27, 2014 10:34 am I cant help with the kitchen colours, but I am using Haymes Spatial in my build for the main wall colour... I did a search and found a thread where someone had used it, here's a link to the pics viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61015&hilit=simonds+seaford&start=340 Halfway down the page is a good pic of Spatial, not brown at all We started with a warm browns and taupes colour scehme, but ended up changing to greys and blacks, with timber for warmth. I originally had Haymes Sanctuary picked, but it was too warm and pinkish for my other selections, so I changed to Spatial. Mainly because we had the feature wall colour Exposure, which when I visited the Haymes site, it said that Spatial was the complimentary colour for it. So I phoned our selections lady and changed it! Dune is lovely... too much grey on a façade can make a home look bleak. I think Dune is such a great render colour, so versatile and tends to work with what it's put with well. It made me feel better seeing it afterwards as well... Paint colour was the one thing I had a real struggle with feeling "ok" with. I searched Spatial on the forum and found that thread, it was actually a thread I was familiar with too! But you don't always take in every detail of someone's build, but I remember liking their paint colour, so I was happy and reassured.
