I hope we don't regret not upgrading carpets, but hey ho only so much money to go lol. Who did you get for the skirting and how much was it if you don't mind me asking? Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 148Jul 28, 2015 9:16 am Looks awesome kash. Saw the moving truck bright and early yesterday, congrats on finally getting in. I'm still cleaning assorted building mess throughout the house I'm sure you're exhausted but relieved. The floors are stunning and I love your paint colours, well done. Enjoy your beautiful new home! Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 149Aug 04, 2015 10:14 pm Yep Ardie, moved in Monday week ago... And have only unpacked the kitchen and my clothes... Everything else is a work in progress, so no pics just yet! Malsannie - apparently the underlay is just as/more important than the carpet and relatively cheap to upgrade...but it'll still be brand new carpet and feel great I'm sure! The skirting ended up a bit under $3000 for the whole house except tiled areas - probably could've saved money by skipping robes, linen, pantry etc. and I have to admit I didn't get lots of quotes, just went with the first one that was in line with what I'd read on here... I was a bit lazy by that point! Don't want to name names because while the finish is good, it took longer than expected and almost messed up the carpet install because he decided not to do the carpeted rooms first as asked/planned Now I just need to do landscaping, blinds, solar panels, network cabling and probably three hundred other things I haven't thought of yet! Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 150Aug 04, 2015 11:17 pm Hey kash, just catching up on your build! congrats on handover and moving in! I love your colours btw, really up my alley. I hadnt even considered highgate! tranquil retreat is a definite i think! are they both full strength if you dont mind me asking?! also so many things you have to do at handover! were going to be like you and get the painting and flooring done after handover. how did you find it trying to juggle everything? any advice? I've organised who I want to do our electricals, painting and flooring but I cant give them dates yet as we've just locked up. how many weeks notice did you give your painter and flooring contractors? thanks Building: The Maxum Builder: New Generation Homes Estate: Springtime Estate, Xavier ____________________________ Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73924 Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 151Aug 12, 2015 9:40 am Thanks issyandozzy! I still love the colours too apparently the highgate casts a bit blue for some people, but I don't see much blue in my place. I honestly didn't pick it (boyfriend did) and was pretty sceptical about it on the chip, but turned out pretty good! Both colours are full strength! I found the juggling interesting... Rescheduled everyone more than once I found they were all pretty understanding with me saying it was new build and I was waiting for handover, giving them an expected date and keeping them updated whenever the builder pushed it back! I had everything on a spreadsheet and still managed to mix up dates on a couple of things!!! Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 152Aug 16, 2015 10:49 pm Just reading about the juggling and lists and scheduling needed makes me tired... and VERY nervous Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 153Sep 20, 2015 10:02 pm Kash Just spent the morning at the house cleaning, while the skirting boards were being finished off! You've helped me make my decision on highgate as a result of your pics! I also didn't catch what brand/colour the carpet is? I love it and we're looking for something very similar! Thanks again and all the best with your project Re: Building w/ redink - post handover pre move in rush! 154Sep 20, 2015 11:21 pm Your skirting looks great. I find it odd the majority of WA homes don't do skirting. We also went for bevelled and it totally finishes off the wall/floor interface. Looks like we have similar carpet colours too - we did the Godfrey Hirst Eco carpet where the backing is 40%cornstarch (or something like that). Was important for us to support local /aussie made where possible. I have a home gym at home. It weights 150KG including the weight stack. I'm a big boy, around 150KG myself. I was thinking about moving it up stairs to the second… 0 6311 3 6413 We've had the offer of a short term tenant whilst waiting for CDC/DA home approval and demolition for our knock down rebuild. It would achieve a pretty low rent as it's… 0 13759 |
