Hi,
Anyone know what I'm tlaking about?
Where can I buy (in Melbourne) those little lights that people have at the bottom of every few stairs?
Can I get them in LED, and low strength?
Any recommendations?
Thanks

People put these step lights for good looks? or they actually serve a good purpose? Below are the one we have: http://www.ozlighting.com.au/Sunny-Lighting-Desert-Recessed-LED-Wall-Light-S9511_LED-P13779.aspx ...serve a good purpose? - Yep; We have 2 lights per flight and 1 for the landing (check the blog for the stair photos showing the lights - I know, I need to add night photos ). They provide enough light at night to go up and down the stairs without having to turn on the overhead and also look good as part of the general background lighting scheme of the house. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: Those little lights for stairs...? 9Oct 23, 2013 10:09 pm PAB_34 lovepub Aheron I think there are a number of different types with different names.for eg i now some are called footer lights, and we were told that if the wiring is there then its pretty easy to add afterwards Seems like a job to be done by the builder during the building stage. I couldnt find any stair light photos on your blog. Can you link please? Re: Those little lights for stairs...? 10Oct 23, 2013 10:22 pm Crouton I couldnt find any stair light photos on your blog. Can you link please? it's in one of the photos of the stairs. photo was taken in day time...so the light is off...but u can jsut see it in the photo. $66 each LED.....wow, that is expensive. that would be close to 700 dollars just for the LED light...not including the extra cost for electrical wirings during the build. at this stage, i am probably going to leave it out....will put it in if my budget allows. Re: Those little lights for stairs...? 11Oct 23, 2013 10:34 pm We are putting lights in our floors and stairs and we have just brought outdoor deck lights off ebay. My partner is installing them as he's a sparkie and we did a test one in a floor board the other day - they look pretty good. H1 Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61557 Re: Those little lights for stairs...? 12Oct 24, 2013 12:44 pm We're going to use these step lights along our hallway, just 2 or 3 hopefully fairly dim so at nighttime we can just leave that light on. For kids mainly finding their way to the bathroom and for trips between parents/kids rooms. We used to buy plug in nightlights for along our hallway. I just hope they are dim enough to provide very dim light in middle of night - PAB can you choose different intensity of bulb or are the lights built-in? Stupid question probably. No, the intensity is fixed but there is nothing stopping you from putting this circuit on a dimmer to drop the level to what you want. ----------------------------------------------- http://pab34newdigs.blogspot.com.au/ ----------------------------------------------- Re: Those little lights for stairs...? 14Oct 24, 2013 1:05 pm We're installing them in the two hallways in the house - three kids and an elderly MIL. Don't have to turn lights on in the middle of the night. We're getting them done during the build. I think they're a great idea.
