Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 21, 2013 2:03 pm My wife and I have made the decision to build a Newton 24 (with Butlers Pantry) and a wider garage. So far the experience has been good and the salespersons (is that polictically correct ) - George and Rebecca at One Minto have been FANTASTIC. I have read lots online about Widsom and thought this thread might be of particular interest to Newton builders. Jump in - make comments - lets share. Oh and by the way - Newton 24 with Butler - Winner of 2013 HIA award !!!!! Re: Building a Wisdom, Newton 24 - happy to share the proces 5Mar 01, 2014 6:50 pm I just realised it has been 4 months since my first excited post ! So far we have managed to get 3 tenders and three sets of plans (due to lots of minor errors) but now we seem to have a final set completed. We noticed today someone has commenced building on the lot next to ours at Heritage Heights, and this helps us to plan what the retaining walls will look like. Still struggling with Bricks (we like Bowral Blue) and continue to look around at completed homes for ideas. Went to The Ponds display today to see the Newton 24 they have there, as it is "handed" the way ours will be laid. To be honest, if I had seen this one first I may never have looked at another Newton. The colour scheme in my opinion is terrible - but it takes all kinds. Compared to the clean light colours at One Minto, the display home at The Ponds does not do this home justice. Anyway, just about to sign contracts (if the bank gets it's finger out) and we can then get underway. Re: Building a Wisdom, Newton 24 - happy to share the proces 7Aug 07, 2014 9:47 am Hi GarSue_Newton24 Congrats on your decision to build a new home. In line with others, the admin process could be a bit slow with WH. We have been presented with the first copy of our tender exactly a year ago. In all fairness there was a delay on our side for about 6 weeks in between. We are now in a position to start the construction in the next 2 weeks. It is a very beautiful journey and All the Best! Re: Building a Wisdom, Newton 24 - happy to share the proces 8Aug 07, 2014 11:34 am The waiting for admin really does suck. As someone who has gone through it recently, all I can suggest is to find something else to think about. Once the building starts it seems to go reasonably well. Re: Building a Wisdom, Newton 24 - happy to share the proces 9Nov 17, 2014 11:32 am Hi Guys My partner and I are first homies and looking at building the Newton 24 (with Butler's pantry) in Georges Fair. We have been dealing with George & Rebecca at Minto who have been great but we are really struggling with choosing a facade! Would anyone care to share a photo of the finished facade they chose? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Re: Building a Wisdom, Newton 24 - happy to share the proces 10Mar 27, 2015 5:44 pm One year and four months after we paid out deposit and we are scheduled to settle on Monday. Watch this space - we are ready to "unload"..... traditional gable roof facade - Have you did the dark and light gray color combination in facade with gray stone in facade… 0 4141 I apologise for any confusion, but your understanding is correct. We approached our situation differently based on advice from… 11 53104 Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do? Thanks for your help 2 9939 |
