My thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65763 Re: Sharon's Build with HGWA- ........ LOCK UP........ 795Jul 25, 2014 11:33 am What is a pain is when you go up there and no one is there! It's the same with every builder, house can have no movement for days, annoyance levels start to raise, then BOOM, more work done and your happy again. All I can say is keep pressing them. A few weeks ago I hassled them for PCI date going on about paying rent & mortgage, they said give your 4 weeks rental notice, you'll be ok so we held them to it Even thought, if they said about delays I would have hit them with the fact they would have to foot the bill for storage and for us to stay somehwere So here we are, keys 1 week before the deadline. This is the part that drags but when you get to the end, all that time seems to then have flown by. Good luck Re: Sharon's Build with HGWA- ........ LOCK UP........ 796Jul 25, 2014 5:02 pm we must have starting building at the right time of year!! our build has been moving really well and others not moving at all. work done this week Tuesday - WIR, WIP, robes fitted out Wednesday - all doors hung (lock up) Thursday - plumbing toilets and bath fitted (I think because I can see the bath in place through the window and some plumbing out the toilet has been done) Friday - Painting the ceilings (i saw painters there this arvo and plastic stuff on the windows!!!) 4 days until cabinet work in installed Re: Sharon's Build with HGWA- ........ painting........ 797Jul 25, 2014 10:39 pm So I got first elec bill $606 .I was surpriced since that was the cost of my old house with a pool . But I have reverse aircon now and have been using the dryer everyday. I have been baned in uding the dryer now .so I banned my partner in using the heater. So blankets here we go .gosh if it cost this much to run a heater .how much is it to run in summer ? But maybe its the dryer . Last time we had reverse cycle air-con we found the heating function nearly twice as expensive as cooling. We put a gas heater in and only used the reverse on heat on very cold nights. My Build, viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64837 Re: Sharon's Build with HGWA- ........ painting........ 800Jul 25, 2014 10:52 pm Thanks for that , as I said never owned one but I really thought it wouldnt be as expensive as running a pool. I dont think I could afford to run a pool and that . The luxuries that cost lol Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17602 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 |
