Still just the TAP at the block Got a letter the other day from the construction consultant saying that our home is now nearing completion of the administration stage and that the major stage of construction is about the commence!!! We also got the residential builders warranty insurance this week Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 151Mar 08, 2014 5:59 pm Kristyherrington88 Hi guys. I am wondering what everyone thinks about 1. Untreated pine in the roof 2. 85mm slab and 80mm in gge with no mesh? Any information will be great! I am very confused I would never have untreated roof timbers. Where we are we're not allowed to have untreated ones anyway (because of European house borer). We also have termimesh through the brickwork. I'm not sure if we had mesh in our garage. I thought it was just the grano, but I'm positive the difference between the thickness of the slab and the thickness of the grano is more than 5mm. Now you've got me wishing I'd paid more attention! 2-cupcakes-pls Hi guys! Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 154Mar 09, 2014 9:18 am Kristyherrington88 Hi guys. I am wondering what everyone thinks about 1. Untreated pine in the roof 2. 85mm slab and 80mm in gge with no mesh? Any information will be great! I am very confused Hey Kirsty With the untreated pine it is normal to have. If you ask for treated ask what type of treatment they do! One lady on homeone paid for treated, when the roof went up she notice that it was untreated pine and they just spray the pine with a treatment. It is standard having the garage and house at different thickness and the garage not having the mesh. You can upgrade, you can upgrade everything when it comes to building. Driveways don't have the mesh when using liquid limestone or the others a like. Driveways and alfresco are done in different thickness When upgrading things in your build make sure that you check that they have upgrade it in the build! Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 155Mar 09, 2014 9:22 am Mmm will need to check the paperwork, but I think the untreated pine is sprayed once the roof is up? I know they spray the house with that bug spray Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 156Mar 09, 2014 2:31 pm Wow our build has gone backwards ! We had a tap and now it's gone? Our neighbors tap has gone too! Is that normal? I also notice that our neighbor has their garage wall right on the property boundary. What are the laws with this? I didn't think that they could do this I guest I a bit shocked how will it look on my side? Can I stick my gate on it? I was planing to have one down that side Will the fence still be there? It's not a big thing I know, but I don't know the rules or outlines about these walls Our blocks have a 20metre frontage and I didn't think that the house will be so close Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 157Mar 09, 2014 2:36 pm If the wall is hot pink can I paint over it if it's on my side? Grow a plant up it to hide it? That side of my house has a setback of 6m and I am guesting that their garage maybe 4.5m back? The garage is aloud to be 4.5m from the set back So hope this will be the only thing I stress about! Hi 2cupcakes pls. Depending on the estate your building in, you can do it. I am in parkland heights (Baldivis) and we are building on the boundary. But there will be a fence there too. I hope this helps you Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 159Mar 09, 2014 3:14 pm I have done some reading and this is what I have found It doesn't look good for me Because the wall acts like a fence there will be no fence there. With adding a post for the gate to be fixed on we will need to dig on the boarder line right where the neighbours footings are. <b>Boundary Fences Under the Building Act 2011, responsibility for maintenance and repair of boundary walls rests with the owner of the land on which it is constructed unless otherwise agreed.Where it is not practical to erect a dividing fence due to a boundary wall the Building Act provides for a reasonable standard of finish on the outward facing side of the wall. An adjoining owner is not permitted to paint, render or attach anything (such as pot plants, clotheslines and basketball hoops) to the wall without the permission of the owner of the wall. It is suggested that any such permission be in writing and retained for future reference.A boundary wall may not be considered a dividing fence and an adjoining owner may still erect a sufficient fence along the boundary line.<b> Does anyone have someone's wall as a fence? How do you feel about it? I hope I will get over this soon! Re: Sharon's build with home group WA House plan updated 160Mar 09, 2014 3:53 pm Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17598 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 |
