Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 12, 2013 6:22 am Hi All, Think this is my first topic on here - haven't got around to starting my build thread (so far its would be a wait for block to register thread). Anyway, so as the title says, we are building with Allworth, and have been told we cant have any of our nominated tradespeople on site pre handover. This wasn't so much of an issue until they wanted over 11k for ducted AC, and our sparky can do a better brand for under 9. Our sparky has also said that by law they cant stop you having tradespeople on site. If anyone can shed some light on this that would be great, as I'm waiting to find out a bit more information from the builder. Thanks!! You can call me Chris! The standard house building contract grants your builder 'Exclusive Possession' of the site. This means the builder has control of who works on the site. For more info on exclusive possession see: http://www.anewhouse.com.au/2012/09/con ... ossession/ The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! We can go anytime once got permission. Re: Tradespeople on site - pre handover - Allworth Homes 5Oct 12, 2013 8:33 pm Yeah Allworth just re-iterated why they dont allow tradies on site - as mentioned earlier, it does make sense! Always good to find out though You can call me Chris! Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15934 We've had the offer of a short term tenant whilst waiting for CDC/DA home approval and demolition for our knock down rebuild. It would achieve a pretty low rent as it's… 0 13744 The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn.
