LOL Do not have that many pics ,too busy checking out the whole place out and making sure everything ok. OH mainly taking photos of things to ask questions about. Also on one of our camping trips down south my laptop died so will have to use the desk top computer which mainly has all my OH junk on and is very slow and frustrating - I usually stay clear of it if possible.. So will be a slow process and few photos. RedInk have promised to take photos and when we come down for the meeting with the tiler will take more photos for the "Pic Piggies", promise We got to meet the SW Redink manager on site (our SS on holiday) after Xmas and by then the Colourbond had been completed. Will post photo. It was really great to see our house for the first time. Got a shock at how small our bathroom was. Not that important really as will be using the Ensuite, but would have liked it a bit bigger. Was told that house completed around June , that is erring on the side of caution. Love that place, especially in winter when you are the only person on the beach. Living there you just have to mentally prepare yourself that you have to drive everywhere. It didn't bother me at all though. Enjoy Oh wow not very often you meet people who know where Myalup is let alone have lived there. Will get some getting use to not having everything so close as it is here in Exmouth. Most people either walk or cycle to most things. Always loved being the only one on the beach. Look forward to reading about your build. Spent an afternoon in Binningup. Lovely place and they have done up the beach front since I was last there . Looks great. You have more of a general store and you can get some wine there too. Just got my PC fixed and while that was happening the laptop died... Luckily the next loan laptop was better but sooooo slow, typing four sentences and it was stuck on spitting out the first few words of the first sentence, that slow As my PC has had a clean install it is really fast now so I guess that's a bonus...! Wow, I had forgotten you hadn't actually seen the house. That is very exciting and it looks beautiful:-) Re: Building with Redink South West in Myalup 90Jan 15, 2014 2:12 am Looks so good!! Bet you were stoked!! Re: Building with Redink South West in Myalup 91Feb 09, 2014 12:06 am Ok we sort of have lock up. There are still roofing issues picked up by building inspector to be rectified as soon as all materials available. Also awaiting the sliding doors for the back of the loft. The render has been applied to outside but not the final colour that comes with the acratex render. We will get a protective coating on it post build, finances permitting. Some pics sent by the SS Front of house. cladding to side and small bit to the front still to come. the final render will be kitty grey. Such a long drive in this horrible heat. It is 44 deg here so further inland and in other areas on way down would be 47 -49 deg. bit freaky driving in that heat and isolation. The tiler is booked in to commence work in two weeks after the plumber has done bath and painters done their bit. We have a choice of coming down for the meeting with the Tiler or having a meeting over the phone. What is actually discussed at meeting and does everyone ( those who have been there) think -it is advisable to be there, or should we wait till it is done and then come down to check out things? I don't think your passageway looks small. viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Building with Redink South West in Myalup 96Mar 24, 2014 7:04 pm Got some pic today of build. Well hopefully the Ensuite blows up. Hate the floor and bath hob tile colour. When I rang tile place was assured it was a grey colour despite having the name mocha. Oh why did I not just change it. Also the tile placement is awful. Can not believe that when the tiles in shower floor and wall do not match up that they have to put the floor tile around the bottom. Also other tiling looks odds. Hopefully can do something with it. At present feel only solution sledge hammer. Not happy with the bottom part of the stairs either. This all comes on top of the fact that in January our independant building inspector picked up 12 items (mainly to do with Loft and roof) needed rectifying. Passed this on to SS, no problems will get done. We had to pay for an extra inspection to make sure things done. Waited for sometime to get done and then this month get report only 3 items fixed and another 3 items can not be varified as they have been covered up. No photos taken or inspector called in as asked before they covered up. As for other 6 items they were not addressed despite being told all items had been fixed. I am fuming about this. Hate my build at the moment. Have been in contact with SS and General Manager and asked what they would do about it. They were to have a meeting week ago. Not heard anything and do not trust myself to ring up. Sorry for this but need to vent. I think there where one that had a grey look to it . Are your floor tiles different size to your wall tiles . Mine are and they are offset . Sometimes if they are different size and they try to line them up it looks worse Re: Building with Redink South West in Myalup 98Mar 24, 2014 7:38 pm Jibs, I can totally sympathise. Have a look at my thread and the before-and-after pics where they have rectified it (to the extent that they are bothered to). They acted like they did me a favour as well. And yes I totally felt like the sledgehammer solution!! Sometimes if they are different size and they try to line them up it looks worse Hi Melsie68. Hopefully they are more grey and it is just the photo making them more brown. Yes different tile sizes. This was not discussed on the phone. Not so bothered about the offset as to the fact inside the shower instead of using white tiles all the way down the wall they put a row of floor tiles around the bottom. Something that if going to offset tiles that should not be done in my opinion. Just mindlessly put them down. Have you spoken to redink about it . Even though I could clearly see my tiles were different sizes . I think the tile shop should go through with us how they may look. . Redink has been really good to me . And hopefully they can help you with being more happy with your tiles .
